I want to sell my car, and I really don't know how much is worth

    Hello everyone! :)

    I'm the owner of a Prius 2nd gen 2006 that I bought from its first owner in 2016. I'd like to sell my car, but I have no idea how much to ask for it, and I could really use some help!

    It has 110k miles, and many little and big problems:
    • the Hybrid battery stopped working (the dealership asked me for $4k, but I know that it could be replaced for various amount of money, starting from the price of one or more single modules, to arrive to under 2k for a refurbished one);
    • the Multi Function Display stopped working shortly after the Hybrid battery (the screen has been unresponsive for more than one year, but now it doesn't switch on at all);
    • the body painting needs to be redone (the sun of California is unforgiving..);
    • the front bumper and the plastic part connected to it (the one that protects the bottom of the car/axis, I don't know its name, sorry!) need some work: the bumper has just a scratch and it might be fixed by someone that knows what they're doing, but the bottom part needs replacement for sure.
    I think that's all (I know, it's a lot..). I just had the car smoked and the registration renewed (plus I got the 12V battery replaced in April), and the car was running very nicely before I had to leave it parked after the covid outbreak.
    How much could I ask for this Prius in need of love? Do you suggest me to try to sell it on the Toyota dealership first (or maybe to some used cars' dealers in my area), on some Facebook group, or maybe even through some website/app?

    I'm not going to have to pay someone to take the car away.. right?! RIGHT?! :D:(

    Thank you in advance to whomever will like to give me their opinion! (y)

    How did you initially purchase the vehicle, as that could be a good way to dispose of it. Best to avoid the dealership or used dealers, unless you need 'trade-in value'. We have a subforum here on PC for vehicle sales, once you have an idea of what the vehicle could be worth you can make a posting : Prius Cars For Sale | PriusChat

    How much effort are you looking to expend for this sale?

    Some sellers might use CL or Offerup, others might use ND, FacespaceMP or Ebay, none are perfect and all come with different levels of virtual and social interaction.

    Not sure what your "local market" would bear, guessing somewhere between 1000 and 3000+ if the mileage (110k) is accurate. Get vehicle value estimates at http://kbb.com/ or http://nadaguides.com/

    You can check for mileage and for dealer related service by entering your VIN at : Welcome to Toyota Owners
    Don't buy a "used battery" for 2k when you can get a 'brand new' OEM battery over the counter from the dealership for that price.

    Thank you @SFO , that's a whole lot of useful info, and I will be checking for sure the resources you gave me!

    (To reply to your question: I don't really want to put much effort in the sale, and I will also have a small temporal window to sell the car when I won't be needing it anymore in less than one month: I will take what I get, I only don't want people to laugh at my back for having ripped me off.. :D)

    Thank you @bisco , I see that both of you and SFO suggested me the same website, so I'll start from there! :)
