    Hi all.

I own a PIII and noticed something strange today.
I got out of the car to take out the mail. Somehow it didn't go back from P to D. It stayed in N.
Turned off the car and things were solved.

The day before I had a weird issue when putting it in Reverse. When I released the brake the car tried to drive at a high speed in Reverse. When I pressed the brake it kind of stuttered. Like you had a first driving lesson and not used to a clutch :). When releasing the brake pedal it still wanted to drive at high speed.
The problem disappeared after turning off the car.

Has anyone encountered such a weird issue. I've read the car with an OBD but no codes showed up.

I'm not a mechanic, but, I would take it to a dealer right away. Your car, from your description, may not be safe to drive.

Since it just occured once and no codes are in the memory I don't see the need to go to a dealer right away. They might not be able to diagnose it when it doesn't occur or even store a code.

My thought was that someone on the forum had this issue before so I know where to look for. Or maybe it is a more common issue in your market as none of these issues I described are know on our forums here. But hey....the US market is bigger right :)

Seeing the fact that the car didn't go from N to D I started thinking about a bad brake switch. But I have no idea if a bad brake switch can cause higher acceleration in reverse.
