Hey guys, bought the extended warranty, Platinum from Troy at Toyota of Greenfield. Got the great deal of paying $990, no deductible, 7yr/100,000. Happy, peace of mind.!!!!!!!!If you are thinking about buying the extended warranty, then go to Troy. His address and web site information can be found in this forum. He is offering the best price that I know of. He ca do this because of the large volume he does.

Cool, I'm thinking about it too. I heard that to qualify for this warranty, you had to bring the car in for all regularly scheduled dealer maintenance items, like a 2500 mile service (including changing the oil), 5,000 mile service (also oil change), etc, or you wouldn't get warranty coverage. Is this true? Anyone know?

Oil changes are at 5K mile intervals. Don't waste petroleum when you don't have to.

Your warranty will not be denied because you didn't go to a Toyota dealer and get your maintenance done.
You can do any of the oil changes and ect either by yourself or any other place you prefer. Just be sure to keep records of the oil purchases, and other items used to maintain the vehicle.

I take care of my oil changes myself, and simply keep track of the receipts and such so I can prove that the maintenance was done.

Thanks and good luck on your warranty purchase. It is true you can get your money back if you don't use it. For me it was a peace of mind to have it.

Did you get a TOYOTA warranty or from another company? I'm surprised if someone is substancially cheaper then Troy.

Selling it for much cheaper than Troy sells it means selling it below dealer's cost, if we are talking about an extended warranty issued and underwritten by Toyota Financial Services. I doubt that is the case, so it must be an non Toyota policy.

I purchased mine from Troy and the service and assistance (how to cancel my old one, etc.) was outstanding. I put 20-25k on the car a year so the extended maintenance was important to me.

I realize this is an old thread.....but the issue is always timely.

I went with Troy of "Toyota of Greenfield" to get a Platinum 4 year 120k ESC Toyota Factory Warranty on my 2015 Prius III. I was very satisfied with the transaction and it was a great deal - I think I paid $720 which was a lot less than any dealer wanted to charge me. However my 2015 never required a single warranty repair. The car is bullet-proof. So in the end I would have been better off buying a share of Amazon stock with that $720. But it was my first Prius and I was a little nervous. That said, $720 was worth the peace of mind at the time.

But I think I'm going to pass on an extended warranty on my new 2020 Prime.

you made a VERY VERY VERY appropriate decision. Simply put . . . . you don't even need to consider the extended warranty until the very last day the factory runs out. If you think about it . . . the extended warranty is actually like buying a service contract when you buy a house. Roof fails? Garbage disposal fails? Central air fails? You pay the small deductible & they fix or replace it. It's like a "hybrid" !!! not quite service contract ... not quite insurance ... but both do the same thing. We had our Nashville (rental) house burn down

wife cried & cried & cried ... insurance? Ka - ching!!! they paid for it. We had the Prius window motor die. Extendend warranty? Ka - ching! it pay'ed for it. Teh Multi function display? DOA. Ka - Ching !!! extended warranty - paid for it. Garbage disposal died? Ka - c hing ! home warranty payed for it (minus deductible).
That said - like any insurance - you pay & pay & pay . . . . and maybe never have to make a claim. That's ok too.
