I purchased a 2015 Prius v Two yesterday and love it except that the Bluetooth connection went AWOL five minutes after I left the dealership.

As I was driving home I pulled over to set up my phone so that I could make a call. I go into the menus and pair my phone. While it was pairing and loading contacts I began to drive. A message popped up a moment later saying that contacts could not load or something to that effect. When I got home I attempted to pair again but the bluetooth and phone icons are now grayed out. I have searched the forums and google and find plenty of people that have had the problem but no solutions that work for me. I have done the following:
Press power on stereo for three seconds and let it restart.
Attempted to see if Bluetooth is turned on in the stereo settings (Bluetooth settings are grayed out, can’t select to get to settings menu.
Restarted iPhone (6 Plus with iOS 11)

I’ve searched for a firmware update for the Entune stereo. I have the version with the LCD screen without Apps. I find nothing. Any one figure this issue out?

We don't have a Toyota with the specific head unit your Prius has but all Toyota/Lexus Bluetooth systems I've seen that use an in-dash screen have a lot in common when it comes to phone pairing.

    Things to try:

Go into the Bluetooth settings on your iPhone and unpair the Prius. Looking at my wife's iPhone 7, I think you would 1) Select "Settings", 2) Select "Bluetooth", 3) select the round "I" (information) icon on the same line as your Prius which may be shown as something like "CAR MULTIMEDIA" if you haven't renamed it. 4) when the settings screen is displayed for your Prius, select "Forget this device".

Then put your Prius in accessory or run mode and press the off-hook button on the steering wheel to see if a "phone not connected" pop-up is displayed on the in-dash screen. You could actually try this first before you unpair the Prius in your iPhone's Bluetooth phone setting. If you do get the "phone not connected" pop-up, select "Connect phone" if that is displayed and then follow the prompts.

If the above doesn't help, I have one other question for now: Has your iPhone paired and work succesfully with the Bluetooth systems in other vehicles?

Thanks for the response. My phone works perfectly with all other Bluetooth devices. After posting my issue, I found that an update had been released that addresses this issue and was available at TIS . I downloaded the file and went out to install it and discovered that my Bluetooth and Phone icons had returned. I went ahead and installed the update anyhow and haven't had any problems since. I must say that the Entune system is terrible in comparison to any other multimedia system I've used in a car. I think I'll definitely be searching for an aftermarket head unit soon.

Was the update specific to the 2015 head unit or a general Entune update? Link to the TIS file? Thanks.

The update was specific to the headunit. I found a Technical Service Bulletin (http://media.fixed-ops.com/Toy_ServiceBulletins/sb0035t16.pdf) that provides the file names of the updates needed for the specific units. Looks like this addresses the 2014-2015 Prius v models. I only had a two day Pro subscription to TIS or I'd check for files of previous model years. If you have one covered in this TSB send me a PM and I'll send a link to the file.

You can't pair Bluetooth or finish transferring contacts when the Prius is being driven. That may have frozen it up. I just bought a 2014 Prius three yesterday. I tried everything I could find to make the Bluetooth work, with no success... every blog, every tutorial, even the manual :) Went up the ladder at the dealership (everyone trying the exact same things I had tried) but the option to "Add New Device" was always greyed out and it was stuck on "Bluetooth Is Off". Therefore, nothing showed up in Settings> Bluetooth on my iPhone. Finally, the Toyota service person tried upgrading the firmware and, failing with that, determined I need a whole new audio unit. I'll be getting that this week or next. That may not be the case here but I want to post anyway so when someone new searches, you will see this and realize you may well have tried everything and done everything right and the system is just going to have to be replaced.

Hello Air_Boss, purchased a 2012 Prius with Audio unit (faceplate number 57033) which plays music & CDs and displays Car ( hybrid operational data) but the Bluetooth button doesn't display the next screens; so can't pair any phone. The Toyota site only seems to support 2014 and later at this time so no upgrade download available. The Apps button and the Phone buttons don't do anything at this time either.
Suggestions or direction would be appreciated.

We have the 57011 head unit so I can't say what might be the operating mode of the other unit.
