    2013 Prius, about 76,000 miles.

When I got in the Prius in the garage, I put my seat belt on. Wait for the garage door to open, seat belt warning light comes on and beeps. I take it off and put it back on. Everything okay. Back out of the garage and the "key in the vehicle detected" comes on (still in reverse). So I turned the car off and turned it back on. Everything okay. Start driving and the seat belt indicator comes back on. I take it off and put it back on, wiggled things around. I do use a selt belt extender, otherwise the seatbelt strangles me. I'm "short." Drive a while and I notice that the light for the cruise control is on. I didn't put it on. Turn it off. Everything okay. Drive some more and the light for an open door comes on. Get to my destination. I check all the doors and find that the hatchback door is not closed down all the way.

Drive back home and everything is okay.

I just took it out for a drive around the neighborhood and everything is okay.

Has this happened to anyone? Is this start of some computer going bad?

I just had a new one put in March 2020. Prius was in dealership Oct 13, 2020, for a tire rotation. They did the multipoint checks and battery was okay.

I do not know how to check the 12 battery. Are there instructions anywhere on how to check it myself?

Nevermind. I found videos on youtube how to check it.

    Thanks very much!

best thing to do is call around auto parts stores for a free load test. otherwise, you have to buy one for around a hundred bucks.
alternatively, you can get a cheap volt meter, measure the voltage at the jump point undr the hood, turn the headlights on, and record the minute to minute drop.

    12 volt battery reads 12.4

I like your answer ---> it may have been the hatch.

but strange that I got all those other things before the open door light came on.

I will be going on a short road trip tomorrow so hopefully that will be a test.

right on the cusp, and very low for a week old. call the dealership and ask, 'what's up with that'?

they should charge it for free, and replace it if it won't hold 12.7 or better.

    are you driving much?

After a 1,500 mile road trip 3 weeks ago, not driving much. Just to local stores.

battery not a week old. It was put in March 2020, but checked (supposedly) a week ago at the dealership with that 21 point checkup they routinely do.

gotcha. dealers are mostly clueless about prius 12v's. best to have it tested. with covid, a lot of people are having 12v trouble due to lack of driving.

a 12v maintainer is a good idea if this is your situation. prius does a good job of maintaining the voltage when driven regularly, but a poor job of charging it up if it drains from sitting.

Thanks for all the information. I will also do some longer drives, too.

The "official" instructions say after a drive or charging, to run the high beams for 30 secs and then measure with multimeter at the battery itself. 12.4 V I'm almost certain falls under charge then test again.

    moto g(7) power ?
