And there is a difference with the free charging, as most charging is done at home. It's good marketing, but it's to show confidence it using the BEV for longer trips, not because charging is expensive.

Free hydrogen is like when car companies were giving away free gasoline with their less efficient models back when gas across the nation was around the nation. it is because the cost of refueling the car was enough for people to pass on buying one. At $4/gal, $15k would fuel my Camry for over 7 years.

And you fixate on them not meeting a self imposed target. Know what else hasn't didn't meet announced sales targets. The Prius Plug In and Prius Prime didn't meet their first full year sales expectations, and the Mirai couldn't even sell a full 3000 from launch to end of 2017.

Toyota said they were going to sell 3000 Mirai by 2017. They did not meet expectations.
They expected 60k PiP sales in the first year globally; wasn't met.
The Prius Prime was going to sell 30k in the US for the first year. The expectation was missed by over 10,000.

Tesla sales went up 24% when nearly everyone else was reporting sales decreases, while making a profit. That's all their investors care about.
No one cares that they didn't meet their self imposed expectation for sales in a troubled market. Except shorters and those with something against the company or Musk.

It is about Tesla seeing a 24% improvement in sales, despite "that we are in one of the worst recession’s in the history of this country", but because they didn't hit a higher expectation of sales, you see that as them failing. To prove that, you point to other car makers that have lost sales compared to lost year.
