    In the 90's, a GM engineer neighbor brought one home for testing and gave me a short ride in it.
    I remember it was quiet and red and originally named Impact...no wonder it was renamed EV1.

    The Impacts were the working prototypes that were loaned out to people for evaluation. They took the speed limiter off one of them and got it up to183 mph.
