This may be a foolish question, but has any one experience in buying a Prius from a mid west dealer and being able to pick it up from a dealer right off the boat in Seattle? We are wanting to travel to Washington State as soon as we get our car, but are wondering it it is possible to buy from our local dealer and pick up from a Seattle dealer. This is not to save shipping costs, necesarily, but to be able to get the car two weeks sooner and drive it instead of a rental car while on vacation. :?

I'm not sure how that would work.

Why don't you just find a dealer or two in Seattle via the Toyota website, call them and work a deal over the phone. I could have done this with a dealer 90 miles away from me, so I don't see why it couldn't be done with someone 1000 miles away. Just a thought.

satchmo has the right idea - find a dealer in Seattle.

There is no way you could buy from a Chicago Region dealer and pick it up mid-transit. There are numerous logistics that go into each unit, and I don't forsee them changing the process for one car. Plus, they come through Portland, not Seattle.

Thank you steveb84.... I figured tha doing something like buying from one dealer and picking up from another was pushing the customer service thing a bit too far. Likely too much customer service for a dealer in a system which can't tell you when your car is coming, let alone if you will get the combination that you ordered.

Portland is the shipping port, I'm sorry for that. Thanks for the correction.
