    Maybe I should just stick to if it ain't broke, don't fix it, but ...

    Saw a display at NAPA auto parts last night and was intrigued by the claims.

    Wondering if it would be worth putting in, just to clean the system>

    We don't have emission tests and even if we did I think the Prius would have no problem, but if this really does clean the system?

    You can (or could) also get a service that could predict the sex of your unborn baby, based on a very few simple questions. Guaranteed accurate or your money back!

    ... but not double your money back (like this item), that could ruin the business model if enough of the customers getting incorrect calls applied for refunds.

    =============

    Most of the marketed fuel system additives are placebos. And some are worse than placebos. Save the money and apply it to that future 12V battery replacement you were wondering about.

    There are also known excellent additives, ie. Techron, but consistent use of Top Tier gas suffices to negate the need for that....

    Given the above "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", and after looking at the products MSDS (below), I would give this product a pass.

    https://images.carid.com/crc/items/pdf/05063-sds-data-sheet.pdf

    If you need a product to clean up the fuel lines, sending unit, injectors and related parts. then try something with PEA (aka Techron, which shouldn't be confused with other PEAs like Palmitoylethanolamide - Wikipedia or Phenethylamine - Wikipedia ) or continue using 'top tier' fuel. Here is a post that lists some examples/pictures of the various products that have contained PEA : Gas Gauge Dead | PriusChat

    Other products to consider that may have higher levels of PEA or similar, would be BG 44k (call around as most dealerships/oil changers/repair shops will sell over the counter for the DIYer), Redline SI-1, Royal Purple Max-Clean, Amsoil Pi. Though slightly more difficult to obtain, the Kreen product doesn't contain PEA, but the MEK it contains should clean just about anything :eek:

    If your Prius does not have any codes launched on the dash it will pass emissions.

    Not a bad idea to throw a can of Techron in the tank once a month given where you live and the very harsh environment.

    Walmart..
