    Hello all.

I successfully used a cheap $5 eBay ELM327 bluetooth dongle on a 2016 Hybrid Camry with the Hybrid Assistant app, albeit slowly as the website explains. Since I'm a new account, I can't link to the website, but it's in the OBD dongle page of the hybridassistant blogspot site.

The same dongle doesn't work with Hybrid Assistant on my 2019 Camry, however the dongle works with Torque Lite. Hybrid Assistant appears to connect then half a second later it disconnects.

Before I shell out $105 to buy an ObdLink LX, can anyone confirm Hybrid Assistant is compatible with the 2018/2019 Camry?

If it's not, can I help in any way to make it compatible?

    Update:

I got in touch with the devs on facebook and Hybrid Assistant isn't compatible yet. The devs are still decoding the HSD4 protocol, so I will keep my fingers crossed for good news in the future.

Update 2: I found a workaround on the devs site which works with my Australian 2019 Hybrid Camry.

    1. Install Torque Lite on your phone.
    2. Plug in the OBD2 adapter to the car and start it (Bring it to "Ready). Pair the OBD2 Bluetooth adapter to your phone. (I have the OBDLink LX)
    3. Open Torque Lite and connect to your car via Bluetooth. Once Torque Lite displays the message "Connected to ECU", proceed to step 4.
    4. Exit Torque Lite. Don't just press the home button because Torque Lite will continue running in the background. Exit properly.
    5. Open Hybrid Assistant. It should now connect to your car and work 100%.

Good luck and a huge thank-you to the developers.
