    Was there a small bluish flower/cloud icon that you could click on, just to the left of the P0A0F. Example in the image below :

    Looks to me based on those 2 dipstick pulls there is water in that...can't definitively tell from here but thatd be my guess. Doesnt look just like oil.

    I am wondering if someone opened up the back to change some cells, or clean the contacts,
    or replaced it and forgot to put the vent tubes on????
    Every photo I've seen of the battery pack has the long tubes across the top, on those vents...

    I'd consider that a possibility, but all signs point to this being the first time the battery was out, and the port that the vent tube is supposed to pass through to the outside is covered with a factory plug. If someone eliminated it on their own, they made it look stock.

    Were wayyyyyy past that point now. The head is resurfaced and put back on. Now I'm chasing down engine codes.

    Thanks! So here's an update. I've got the car down to a local (Boise Idaho) shop that promotes themselves as Toyota Hybrid experts. They are in fact 3 Toyota trained technicians that defected and started their own shop. Nice big clean new and professional. Apparently two more of Toyota's guy's went down there today to see about jumping ship! They even helped brainstorming on my car. So far they guy there had been able to get my car to ACTUALLY run.... for 30 seconds. Turns out that what I thought was my engine starting for me was just the traction motor spinning the ICE fruitlessly. He WAS able to verify that I got the head back on correctly, and got the timing chain perfect. The crazy thing is that his techstream won't tell him more than I already knew. Same codes as torquepro. Then they discovered that I had (somehow) put TWO isolator washers on each injector (whoops)! And saw that they were not factory injectors. My fuel pump is good, 55 psi. Everything mechanically and electronically is fine riiiiiiight up to the injectors themselves. And here's the rub. I bought them from a shady rebuild service on eBay. So they wanted the injectors I removed from the car, which I still had (yayyy for hoarding!) And they'll let me know. They're not messing with it more today so we find out Monday.

    Glad you're making progress!
    The injectors were probably good. Maybe they can clean them before installing them.
    And hopefully, that will resolve the problem!

    Was anyone able to click on the cloud/flower icon and retrieve the 'subcodes' / INFs ??
    Curious who the seller was, as I used someone in SoCal valley area and was happy with the price/performance for $23 shipped.

    This was the seller for mine : atlantaautopart on eBay

    They weren't a matched set according to the injector body, and I have no idea what the flow or spray pattern was like.

    HEY ALL!! well the boys down at Naylor's automotive have figured it out and they are done with it!! So it seems that it was bad injectors afterall. I need to have a word with the, ahem, "individuals" that sold me those supposedly rebuilt balanced guaranteed injectors. :mad: Anyway, the silver lining is that the guys down there were able to go over everything I did and give it all a thumbs up.... which they did, with the exception of the effed up injectors. What they wound up doing was clean up the original injectors and put them back in. So, I'll have reports of mileage and driving experience and also I'll be slowly reconditioning the battery modules too! ;) happy motoring!

    ouch! But at least it's running correctly! Pretty much like new!
    I hope that you get several hundred miles out of it!

    that’s why I did this. 1000 for the car, something like $1200 or so for parts, $486 for a good professional once over and I have a car with a clean running engine, many new sensors, new suspension and no depreciation or interest lost. As long as I can do the work I’ll never own a new car.
