so I got the new hybrid battery from green bean. but the car was still running really sluggish and j was still losing oil like half a quart a week so 400 miles or so.... so I read about this BG miracle for Priuses. I changed the spark plugs (NEEDED IT VERY BADLY) which helped a little . then today we did the APR engine flush. (our engine oil still stays pretty clear when you 1st change the oil.... we had changed the oil on sunday, as the car sat for 6 months when the oil change was due. . then did the flush today we let it idle for about 20 minutes. let me just Say what came out looked like the old oil from sitting for 6 month's. it was BLACK. then we put the new oil in and MOA and 44k and filled up the gas. so far right if the bat I notice I cant hear the lifters like I could before. and the jerk it does when the gas engine starts from the electric seems to be gone. we dont have the long hard drive up hills and about 47 miles 1 way until Monday. I dont see any difference in the mpg... but I will update in a few days as this progresses. we have to do the cataclean next because I keep getting that P0420. and dont have $ for a new cat converter right now.....:/. so hopefully nothing bad happens. but so far I already see and hear small improvements

so far I've taken it on the hwy and the power loss is gone, but it's getting HORRIBLE gas mileage. Have no clue why. after we run through this tank of gas I'm gonna put some cataclean in it because I'm still getting P0420 code hopefully that will help the mileage. right now I'm sure the mixture is way off and it's just dumping has and not even using it. who knows
it was so bad it was going 45 up hills would not keep speed at all. it still slows down a little but not like before the EPR treatment.

it did pretty good on the big hills today I was cautiously optimistic. but I want to do the flush again after cataclean. seems like it helped so much already.

so far the mileage came back a little. its averaging around 41 right now..... and the oil burning may have slowed but it definitely hasn't stopped . so I'm thinking we should do the EPR again?? maybe at 1000 miles. we did the cataclean after and were on that tank of gas now *after doing the 15 miles on 1/4 tank with cataclean in it.* and i havent seen Any improvement past the EPR. Also the P0420 still comes on. I read that Oxicat works better by some people and others say cataclean?? so I figured well do that again too. and try oxicat. It may just need a new damn O2 sensor. which from what I've read they're not easy to change.
when the Green bean guy came out I watched everything he did. he was very quick and efficient I had him look at the blower fan and anything else that might collect dust pet hair etc, and it was all clean as a was whistle. I seen it myself. He said it looked like the original battery because usually certain bolts would have been moved that hadn't been. it was pretty crazy he had different tools at all the places he needed them so he didnt have to change anything out he just picked up the different size tool he needed already ready to go lol. I have asked them a TON of questions since because the battery gets down to 30% (in Dr Prius) and only gets up to 69% when that display thing in the car says its 'full". So that concerned me. but he kept saying it is fine, that i if anything isnt fine in any way it will trip a code and theyll replace it free..... SO I guess well just wait and see. He did say that driving where I live hills high altitude etc, is not good for Prius's that it will probably fail in a couple years.... BUT it will still be covered under the warranty. So they'll replace it free. in fact I now think it was this daily drive I have to do that maybe killed the battery in the first place........

if you're not getting any codes, the battery is fine. if you are having mpg issues, it would be wise to look elsewhere.
at 240k, there is a lot of wear and tear on the engine and other parts of the drive train. still, prius are built to last, and it is usually minor things that effect mpg.
