Hi all, I just noticed this dangling shield with a soft pad on the splash cover of my 2013 Prius v. I see that the part number 51410-76013 is a splash cover, but what is the soft pad attached to it and how do I get it back into place? I have some ramps to prop up the car, so I can do it myself, I just have to drive to flat land, so I'd rather do it all at once with parts ready.

You need a few push pins for 7mm / 1/4" holes. Any auto supply and even Lowes have them. Oil change guys tear them up and try to reuse them. There are two screws up front (the 06767 parts).

The covers also go on in a certain order. That cover should be fastened below the cover ahead of it. So whoever removed it also replaced it out of order, without sufficient fasteners.

Uh. Never go back to the place that did the last oil change. See 2nd picture. That flap was opened and left in the opened position! You need to raise the front so you can swing that back 180 degrees on it's hinge and I believe 3 or four pins as mentioned. You have one that I can see. I do believe 1 of the pins is not exactly the same size as the other two, or at least on mine, maybe not the original.

And sorry, to answer your question, the pad is not a usually replaceable part, so I'm not sure you can get something to reattach it. Looks like it has some sort of plastic pins maybe a dab of Gorilla glue in those spots. IT SHOULD NOT BE FACING OUT, once you close that flap it will be facing the engine side...

The pad should be facing toward the engine. That was a cluster oil change operation.

Air_Boss is correct, and good eye!
The cover is folded backwards, need to unpin it and flip back towards rear of the vehicle where it originally designed...

This is my under engine cover with a stainless hinge mod for the oil change access after the original hinged part was destroyed. The extra pads are silencers. I changed the push pins on the access to screw versions (Hillman 881213) B27E027C-1C6E-4E44-9AFF-1E584D4B730A.jpeg 0F129F27-F684-4ED3-8890-3FC9F44B6D16.jpeg

Thanks for the help everyone! That's what I get for going to a Volvo specialist shop—they're usually nice and communicative, I believe one tech just screwed up. I'll have them fix it, put in the clips, and I'll start doing my own oil.

Not sure if the Prius v is the same panel/clips as a regular 3rd gen Prius, but fwiw, the attachement has part no's for Prius fasteners.

I purchased sufficient for full replacement through Amayama, the genuine Toyota fasteners, and it was not too much. I replaced a few of the existing, just those damaged in some way, and put an X on the caps of the replacements, so I can keep track.

There was a $10 shipping charge on top of the cost, nothing else, ie no sales tax, import duty. It's good to shop strategically, throw in several consumables, say filters or wiper blades, for a lower overall shipping charge:

Volvo specialist MAYBE did on purpose to get my reaction, which would be to never go back. It doesn't take a Toyota specialist to remember to close the flap. Walmart has a tool that fits the oil filter cap. I also saw one at AutoZone this morning, albeit much more expensive. Then there's the Toyota (official) Bosch Service one if you're interested I can post a link....
