Since I'm replacing my current Toyota wipers, should I go with the blades or just the refills?

I think you have to buy the whole blade. I think the PIAA require a new connector for the blades and the refills dont include that. Someone correct me if i'm wrong. I bought the whole thing and upgraded to a 28" wiper. I hope they come in soon.

Many of you outside the area are probably wondering about how tough the rains have been in the DC area, and I must say that I've been driving through much of it very well with my new PIAA blades and Michelin HydroEdge tires. Never once have I had smears or an inability to see in the HEAVIEST of downpours... including the record breakers we have had in the last few days. If there could be any test of these wipers, this would be the hardest... and the water just bounces off the windshield with 'em on! I also have the oversized JDM Eurostyle 20 inch PIAA rear wiper and have not had any trouble at all seeing out the back of my window... and I really need those extra inches in this torrential rain. The tires have held pretty well in the 3-4 inches of water on the roads as well...

So if you're wavering on the purchase of PIAA blades, I would HIGHLY recommend them to you!

Has anyone here ever tried the heated wiper blades (Everblades). I have had problems on my last car with the blades icing up and lifting off the windshield. I had to stop every 15 Mins to clear them, so I was looking into putting the heated blades on the Prius.

I just replaced my wiper blades with Toyota OEM blades - right from the parts department.
Cost me all of $9.41.

I use RainX on all my glass and lights, so didn't see the need for PIAA silicon blades.

Good thing John provided directions on how to replace the blades on his site (http://john1701a.com/prius/prius-wiperblades.htm), as I would have uttered unmentionable things at the rear blade cover otherwise. I managed to replace them with very little trouble, although getting the old ones off was a bit tricky.

The Toyota wiper blade part numbers for my 2005 Prius are not the same as on John's page.
The part numbers are:

85214-YZZF1 - Driver's side
85214-46010 - Passenger side
85214-47010 - Rear

Again, thanks to this group and John's site for all the great info on replacement parts, after-market parts, tips, and "tricks." Hope my contributions, albet new, are helpful.
