My 2008 Prius has 83,000 miles and tires that are very old (think about 6-7 years old). I need new tires ASAP. The Goodyear Assurance tires are about $315 with a $40 discount. The Cooper Ultra Touring would be $405 with 10% off and $50. back. I am looking for the tire that would be the best and last the longest. The price would be pretty similar due to the discounts. Any advice?

I just bought 4 Pirelli P4s for $52 each at Walmart. Considering the 90,000 mile warranty and decent reviews for traction and fuel economy, I think it's an absolute steal. Unfortunately they're up to $79 again at Walmart in the past two days, but they're still $52 on Amazon here:

That is a amazing price! I'd jump on this if I needed tires.

I needed two to replace a pair with one irreparable, but I figured I'd better buy 4 while they're so cheap.

Out of the two you mentioned, I'm not sure whether you meant the regular Assurance All-Season or the ComforTred, but the regular Assurance and the CS5 are very similar, so if you're set on one of those two, it should probably be whichever one is cheaper, since they're both 600UTQG rated and 65000 to 70000 mile warranty. The ComforTred, however, is just under $400 with a much longer life, an 80000 mile warranty and 740 UTQG rating. But then again, you could get the Pirellis I linked above for $210 with a 90000 mile warranty and 760 UTQG rating.

These must be the tires. Only ones for $52. Look like a steal

My parents suggested Cooper tires because there's no road hazard warranty. Also, I'd need to pay an additional $80 to install and the extra to dispose of my tires. The $210 would be about the same price as the Coopers which would be $311. Thanks!

It seems that the price has already risen on Amazon as well. I guess I'm glad I bought mine when I did then! In my area, installation isn't quite so expensive, with $15 installation including disposal being the norm, so for me it was a real deal. I didn't realize your prices were including installation already.

The price for Coopers was about $305 to $310 total with everything cheaper than I thought. Amazon's didn't include installation.

I just bought some Volt sized VIVA 3’s for $64 a tread

I was wanting the $90 ecopias but the price recently skyrocketed on them so I will suffer a loss in fuel economy for a quite tire.

I wanted old fashioned Goodyear Integrity’s (over VIVAs)
because they were cheap LRRs but they no longer make the right size for my car so Viva 3 it is.

Ive had good luck with Goodyear’s, the most recent Michelin’s on my car were sort of garbage, didn’t even get 30k out of them and lower economy than the OEM Goodyear’s

Someone recently posted recommendations from Consumer Reports......on here I think.
The two that won on quiet AND LRR (mileage) were:
Kumho Solus TA 11 and Bridestone Ecopia EP 422
I found the EP422 at about $103 each but can't find the Kumho in the right size for my C.

Over my 60 or so years of occasionally buying the cheapest tires I could find, that has NEVER worked out good.

I got my Coopers for about $68.75 for each tire and got a free tire basically.
