True - at 10 yrs old, condition is more valuable than number of kilometres.

Batteries in high-mileage PRIUS' (TAXIs in particular) seem to be going well - as though age rather than distance determines their life - generally.

If you don’t want to put miles on it, why you buy it?
Prius is designed for fuel economy, you have to drive it enough to make it up for the extra you pay for it.

That's not because the Prius is optimized more for city driving - it is just that there is more opportunity for improvement in city driving because of the deplorable efficiency of conventional vehicles.

Note that the hybrid is much better than the conventional vehicle for both city and highway driving. The cars with the best fuel efficiency for highway driving are all hybrids.

I've had 3 Priuses and did a lot of highway on the 1st two. As mentioned, your highway mpg won't be as good as city driving.

That's only relevant to the older ones. Gen 4 - I get better l/100km on the highway. Probably the advanced aerodynamics etc on the later models.

It may or may not be relevant to a given individual depending on exactly what kind of "city" and "highway" driving is involved.

IF.....your highway driving consists mostly of 80 MPH and above, you would be hard pressed to get better mileage there than in the city, just for instance.
