Our 2015 has a leaky head gasket ( mechanic did a block test) . It has 220,000 miles on it . Trying to decide weather to sell/ trade it in and get a new pruis or get a remanufactured engine put in for 2,900$ . It comes with a 2 year warranty. Any cons to replacing engine, does it affect re-sell/trade in value in the future? We will end up putting anywhere from 25,000-35,000 miles on it per year , anyone have any long term issues with replacing the engine?how many miles were you able to put on your pruis after engine replacement?Any other maintenance/ replacements that should be done while the engine is being replaced?

Just curious: had the EGR system and intake manifold ever been cleaned?

If you decide to repair, hopefully they clean the EGR cooler and intake, while R&R-ing the head gasket. Sad to see this.
