So Wednesday I decided that I would change the 12v battery. The “issue” I noticed was that the B+ voltage shown on my scanner app was 14.46 in ready and 11.62 ignition on mode after the brake pump stopped. However, a commensurate load test of the battery at the parts store showed 12.37 volt 74% charge. Now that the replacement is in, the voltage is 13.95 in ready and 12.4 ignition on after brake pump stops. I likely had some time left on my 12v, but given that I changed the battery in my wife’s car a month ago(I started it at 7am to move it, wouldn’t start at 10am when she wanted to leave), after it died with no warning, I figured I’d just go ahead and get it done.

You mention two Prius, so I am not sure if the 2010 is the one you changed the battery on, but ten years is a very long time for a 12 volt battery to last. I preemptively changed mine after 7 years..

(I last visited Evansville in 2002, my wife was remodeling a Greyhound bus terminal in MS, and the only other terminal that used the same blueprints was in Evansville. Greyhound Bus Terminal, Clarksdale – Preservation in Mississippi )

The battery in mine was a 2015 manufactured Super Start put in by the previous owner in/near Orlando, judging by the parts store will call tag.

The Greyhound terminal still exists, now known as Bru Burger Bar.
