Hello, wondering what might be going on with my 2013 Prius.

Not sure if it's the battery because it does seem to power on but no Ready light and can't put into Drive.

I added a picture of the dashboard lights. It takes a few tries to turn it back off.

Could it be as simple as a 12v battery issue? The hybrid is 3/4 full.

Thanks for any insight you may have.

Test the 12v battery and scan the codes

    YES.

And if it still has the original 7 year old one in there......just get a new one.
And be sure the new one is fully charged before installing.

Even if that is not the only problem, having an old weak 12 V in place can make diagnosing other things difficult.

When my original 12v battery (8 yo at the time) went out, the car refused to power on. It would take several tries to get it to power on. But even then I would only have half the display (left side only). I wouldn't see all those warning lights coming and staying on.

It is easy to check the battery. Any autoparts store should be able to do it.

Could be something as simple as a wonky 12v battery (although honesty, that seems unlikely). Could be something as major as a failed inverter. Without reading the stored code(s) it's like shooting targets blindfolded.

Check coolant and engine oil levels too. Always good to do anyways.

SOLVED- it did end up being the battery. Changed it out and all is well again.

Thanks to all who took the time to reply.

So much for the "that doesn't seem very likely" theory. :)
