I am trying to mount new tires on the new rims and for some reason I can't. The rims are Dorman 939-259 15x5J, steel rims. The tires are Linglong 175 /65R15 Standard 5J rim. I have a harbor freight manual tire changer and four 24'' tire irons. I started on the opposite side of the valve. With some difficulty I was able to mount one (outer) bead, but mounting the the second bead seems impossible. If I try to use a hook from the harbor freight tool I go with it slightly more than half way around, then the pole twists and the hook comes out. I tried using tire irons, but after I mount slightly more than half way I need so much force that I am tearing the bead.

I suspect there is something I am doing wrong. Is there a chance these tires would be incompatible with these rims? What else can I check? Could I have this problem because the first bead that is already on the rim does not want to sit in the grove where the TPMS is? How can I keep the outer bead in that grove when I am mounting the inner bead?

    Thanks.

I learned that the tires should only be mounted from the front of the hub, the side the bolts are on. I was trying to mount a tire from the back. When mounting from the front everything is simple and straightforward with these tires. Lesson learned.
