Can anyone chime in on which coilovers setup you think would lower mines the lowest with the smoothest ride? Thanks just pretty much for stance and somewhat handling.

When swapping the rear coilovers did you have to remove the entire interior rear quarter panels to access the rear upper coilover mounts? Or do they jus screw out from underneath?

Toyota finally improved this design! The Coilover mounts can be accessible from underneath the car

Hey, so was wondering where to start with tightening up rear end on 16 prius, where to go 1st? Rear power braces (cusco) or start with a center and work out?

I would start with a sway bar and see if I needed any more than that...

I'm about to get a Gen 4 and will want to reduce body roll. I'd prefer a TRD rear sway to Cusco, for the better stiffness-to-weight ratio of a hollow bar, but TRD doesn't seem to have one yet for Gen 4. Does anyone know whether TRD expects to have one? (I've called them, but didn't reach anyone who knows.)

I don’t think they are going to produce one. They did make something pretty amazing for the Gen 4 though. It’s called a motion control bar.

Thanks 2020XLEAWD! Guess you're right, so I suppose I'll go with either the rear ARB only, or both, from Cusco. If anyone has experience with putting only Cusco's rear bar on the Gen 4, and/or knows whether that might compromise the stability-control system, I'd love to hear of it. And if anyone has tried the motion-control beams that 2020XLEAWD mentioned, that'd be interesting (though they're pricey) too.

Thanks Paul--the video was exciting, and you definitely passed that Porsche! Perhaps you could give me some idea what adding only the rear Cusco bar would do. For example, would it noticeably reduce body roll, and might it produce oversteer or interfere with the stability-control system? Last, any downsides to putting on both front & rear, other than cost?
    Thanks, Stewart

I have the rear sway bar and the front strut tower bar from Cusco. The rear bar has really firmed up the rolling on turns and on highways where you’re taking longer sweeping turns. The strut bar is more like a engine bay chasis brace since it doesn’t connect the strut towers. It makes turn ins much sharper. I may get the front sway bar too. Just debating if I should get the motion control bars instead

    Thanks
Thanks 2020XLEAWD. Did you feel that having only the rear ARBs produced oversteer, or that it might confuse the stability-control systedm? After you mentioned the motion-control beams, I read TRD's description and looked at their pictures, which indicate that the beams reduce the rate of body roll and lateral forces on the driver, but I don't understand how they do it or how they might relate to sway bars, if at all. I'd appreciate any comments on that.

Haven’t had problems with oversteer. I switched to michelin crossclimates for the winter and they are very sticky. Here’s the Motion Control Beam video by TRD
