Most orange county dealers gave that price on XLE. $24,500. When I asked them if that was including clean fuel rebate, they all refused to answer by telling me to come in for test drive.
Wish I can do little better.....

Are we expecting Toyota's $3000+$1000 to increase/maintain/decrease after February? I'm asking because I will only get a SSN in February, so unsure if I want to buy the car with cash now to take advantage of the $4000, or wait till February to qualify for an auto loan.

We ordered a new PP Limited this afternoon, wanting to take advantage of the tax credit again ($4502 Fed + $500 in my state) while it's still with us (~70,000 vehicle credits as of 6/20 to cap Toyota threshold.... and RAV4 Primes are coming). We went to the same (Costco) dealer as last year and were given a dealer discount of $890 and Mfg to Customer rebate of $5000*, bringing the base to $29,274 (they threw in an all weather floor liner package and door guards as pot sweeteners, MSRP was $35,164). Subtracting the eventual Fed and State tax credits brings our base down to $24,272 and allowed $24000 for our trade in (not phenomenal, but reducing our Connecticut sales tax by about $1500)

We wanted to check out TSS 2.0 and other features that differ from our 2020 Limited... also we wanted to do something to commemorate the day our nation eschewed the Flat Earth Society, Faux News (alternate "facts") and returned to logic, science, humanity, and yes, sanity. Bleach anyone?

    * YMMV, that's the amount and nomenclature our CT dealer used, trade + cash , no lease, financing, or other requirements involved.

Based on my past few years observations, it's highly likely to maintain, then increase by another $500 in 2 or 3 months.

It looks like starting in November, Toyota factory rebates increase every month. It was $1,750 in November, $3,500 in December, and it is $4,000 now in January in Southern California. Perhaps December is the sweet spot to buy a Prius Prime—you get nearly the maximum rebate plus you get a quick tax credit and/or don't miss expiring state/local rebate opportunities.

Good to know, in that case I'll wait 3 weeks to get my SSN and apply for a car loan. Was just worried I'd miss out on the $4000 by holding out for a not so great interest rate anyway.,

Good luck! I am not sure if you can get a decent interest rate if you can get a loan at all because you have no credit history.

I got an offer for $22,375 before taxes and fees for LE. Is this a good price? I'm trying to get the breakdown to see if there are any local incentives/rebates not priced in yet, but how does this sound?

That is a very good number. If you can get a full-fed-tax credit of $4502, the final price would be $17873 +tax and fees.

That's close to a $3,000 dealer discount, which is as good as it gets. However, don't buy a 2020 model, which is considered a used car at this point, or a repossessed vehicle (due to unable to secure a loan). Check if it's actually a never-bought 2021 model.

What's wrong with a 2020 model? I actually saw 3 2020 LEs in one of the dealerships in my area with a $6990 dealer discount, going for 24k+ including fees and taxes.

Of course, it's going to be much cheaper, as you're buying a car over a year old. Its resale value will be a lot less a result. It has also spent a lot of time in the dealer lot and may have UV exposure, battery degradation, etc.

Moreover, the 2021 model is vastly improved over the 2020 model with TSS 2.0 etc.

Other than TSS 2.0 and Android Auto for LE trim, what upgrades does 2021 have over 2020? I'm not able to find much info about this online.

2021 all trims but more in LE model have Remote Connect functionality. The Toyota publication says only remote climate control only, but there have been other functionalities reported to work.

That's a great price if a 2021. I recently purchased two new 2021 Prime's (XLE and LE). I ended up paying $25.5K OTD for the LE before the $4502 Fed tax rebate and the $1000 California CVRP rebate. The $900 California CCFR POS rebate was included at time of purchase. If you qualify for both rebates the price would be ~$20K OTD when all is said and done, which seemed pretty awesome to me considering I sold my 2014 Plug-in Prius to Carvana last week for $14,890. It was low mileage (~29K) but paid around the same - $20K for the car almost 7 years ago. I know others have been able to negotiate better deals in the past, but I literally checked all over Northern California and only found 2 dealers who would match that price. I was also picky about the color - I wanted the Wind Chill Pearl for the LE.

Also check for local city, county, and power company rebates. My local electricty company (SMUD) gave me a $599 rebate and special rates for the XLE I purchased last month. Unfortunately that one ended Dec 31 and couldn't take advantage of it on the LE, but the extra $1K Toyota kickback that started Jan 4 made up for it.

    Good luck!
