Someone or a rock dented my hood, is there anything I can get to raise the dent up?

Does it matter if our hood is aluminum alloy? Is the repair method the same as it would for steel?

I hear you goldfinger! Winters in the Northern tier, with the salt and sand, are brutal on a cars exterior finish (and underneath). It's difficult keeping them rust free.
I used to live in the upper peninsula of Michigan (Marquette). I remember seeing door panels flapping in the wind as a rusty older car drove down the road. Back in the 70' and 80's, auto body rustproofing was the key to keeping a car on the road for a long time. The first stop for most new cars then was at Tuff Kote Dinol, Ziebart or Rusty Jones for a quality rust proofing effort. With the non galvanized metal back then, it was the best thing you could do.
