I am interested in buying an old prius to drive Uber and Deliver food with.
I found one an hour away. Provided my budget this is my best option.
2012 Prius (leather interior, backup camera)
I went to see the car at the dealer's lot.

I noticed that the hood panel line is not that straight.
The left side's gap is higher than on the right.
    See pictures for reference.

It is selling for $7.6 including all paperwork and tax
I test drove it and it seems like something is lose in the back of the car, so when i get on on smooth parts of the road, it make noises.
But the driving itself (motor/engine) seems to be working well.
    Is this a good deal?
    Or Would you stay away?

    Thanks for any help/input!

Does it have a salvage title? If so, I would stay away.

If it has a salvage title you can’t use it for Uber. I bought a 2010 IV for $6500 with 115K miles 2 years ago for Uber, it had 5 year old traction battery, brake booster had been replaced under warranty, and documented 5K (or less) synthetic oil/filter changes. All maintenance since by myself, now has 157K.

I say stay away...too many miles for that price. Plus potential costly repairs at that mileage.

    Sounds like poor collision repair.

If the Prius bit bit ya and there’s no cure, make sure you have a few more thousand saved up afterwards for hv battery replacement and egr + manifold cleaning by a mechanic. The hood alignment appears to be the least of your worry.

Yup, hear same on mine, on bumpy roads, hear noises which feel like something is loose at back.

If someone knows or has an remedy, this will be tremendously helpful.

Right? I noticed it on other priuses I test drove as well...

Thanks for the advice, I decided to skip on this offer.

Yes. however the carfax has no report of damage of accident. I decided to forget this one.

And is it still going strong? Have you ever replaced the high voltage battery?

I think I will get this 2014 Prius I found from a private party I think I can get it for 7 grand. It has 116k.
Records show 2 accidents but it looks and drove great. After an hour-long car inspection from a reputable shop, there's nothing to worry about in terms of frame and mechanics. So maybe I'm going to get it as it seems like all the cars are getting pricier at the dealerships.

So, a 2010 prius with 157k miles for $7600 ? Please note, you need to put $400 do a maintenance on this car. EGR cooler, pipe, intake manifold, Oil catch cans, spark plug, water pump, cvt fluid change, coolant change, brake fluid. All those with not yet labor fees.
I hope the tires and High Voltage Battery and 12V battery still in good condition in 157k miles.
