What does the advent of the new battery techs speak for the existing priuses?

Would it be beneficial in any manner?

nothing. you can't just change battery tech willy nilly, it's more complicated than that.
best you can do is get a new pack, there is a small upgrade, although nothing has proven better than a gen2 pack in the long run

If you are thinking "plug and play", then the answer is NO......because the electronics likely wouldn't play good with a different type of battery.

I was thinking more like a solid state battery with the same output spec as the old hybrid battery being swapped for it.

"output spec" isn't the only important parameter.
The apparent internal resistance at various levels of charge are important too.

Dr. Prius Lithium traction battery is what you want.

I have it, its lighter than OEM and charges up faster.

I say its the "Pack of the future"

Is too. Toyota already made them, just not ready for consumers.

Wikipedia claims that Toyota and VW have been working on "solid state" batteries that have solid (not liquid or gell) electrolytes. Sounds interesting.

I once added an additional information on a celebrity’s Wikipedia page that he once was the tea cup ride operator at Disney world, which wasn’t true.
