I have a Pioneer stereo that won't allow device pairing or any change in settings. It thinks the parking brake is not applied and this feature improves safety by disabling certain options when the car is moving. I'd rather have the safety option intact but I didn't install this unit.

The light green wire on the back of the unit is the brake switch wire and it apparently looks for a ground that can be interrupted briefly and then reconnected. This is to prevent people from just grounding the light green wire to the radio chassis. Does anyone know where this would attach directly to the brake switch? Also, I have tried to ground this wire directly and it doesn't seem to do anything to the settings or pairing.

Parking brake signal is available in the dashboard somewhere, if not already in one of the existing head unit connectors. I had a similar situation installing an aftermarket Sony in ours. There was a parking brake signal wire available right there, just had to crack it out of the electrical wiring diagram. I spent the $20 and rented the manual from Toyota- worked great, found the connection I needed easily.

    Good luck!

In the very end are wiring diagrams:

I didn't found any braking switch wire in the OEM stereo connectors. So I've grounded that wire, which worked for my Chinese android stereo.
Good luck doing better than me!

I have a Gen 2. Is the parking brake wire behind the radio? What color is it? I'm trying to hook up my micro bypass to my pioneer radio to use android auto. I have back connected to black, blue to blue, and missing bright green....
