Swapped out a complete front rhs hub assembly today with a good used unit due to a rather noisy bearing, over the last few weeks i noticed the car disables cruise over relatively minor bumps, been wondering if this is related to the bad hub like the speed sensor chucking a fit or something, anyone else had this?

also by eye the car looks to have more negative camber on the rhs front wheel than usual, i backed off the two strut bolts and pushed the hub towards maximum positive camber position which seems to have helped a bit but it still looks to have more than the usual negative camber on rhs, strange! maybe it has a bent strut or hopefully its okay now with the new hub assembly, wont know until tomorrow.. definitely signs of someone been there before the camber bolts were in back to front :( and both front brake lines had 360 degree twists :( some people need to keep away from the tools

Its not easy trying to guess which side bearing is noisy on prius, i have not driven it yet with the new hub as i want to machine the rotors tomorrow morning but the old one definitely sounds a bit notchy to spin by hand now that its off the car

Cruise controls generally disable whenever there is an active code lodged in the computer. If you recover that code, it will indicate the source of the problem - whether it is a speed sensor or something else.

Sounds like you should have the alignment checked on a machine too.

Hi how's it going :) there's no codes unfortunately, it just knocks out of cruise over every little bump in the road as they normally do with bigger bumps, I figure it's related to the hub or camber

Definitely will get an alignment done once I sort out the underlying issues in from end such as this hub, maybe it needs a lower control arm too.. I don't know! theres not really much adjustment for camber on these so it's got me beat why it's so negative in the first place, maybe have to ad a adjustable bolt

Anyone know can the strut top mount in more than one position out of the three possible, and if so does that mess with camber, I'm chasing ideas :)
