I purchased the Package #3 with my 2007 Prius and XM radio capability is listed as being a part of the vehicle. I can't seem to really find out what that means. I tried clicking the AM/SAT button to get the satellite screen but it only shows AM radio. I guess that the car is not really XM radio ready. Any comments?

What it means is the vehicle is ready to accept an optional Toyota XM Radio for installation. Then after the installation you will see all of the operational aspects of the radio when you hit the Am/SAT button. First time you hit the AM/SAT button you will get AM Radio while the 2nd time you hit the button you will get XM Satellite Radio. I have it installed in my Prius and it is a worth while addition....especially on long trips.

    Cheers

I believe Metro Toyota has them for about $250. They're easy to install too if you're DIY'r.

I called the salesman that sold me the Prius and he said that he ordered the XM radio antenna kit. He said that is all I need to get XM radio going. (I know that I need to call XM Radio and add to my subscription). Is he correct? My current radio has the AM/SAT button so I assume that the radio is ready to go. Please advise....

Pull up you back seat and take a look. It just pops up and can then be snapped back in place. The sat radio is mounted on the passenger side below a metal bracket that's bolted to the floor, under the rear seat. It is visible by just lifting up the rear seat, without removing anything else. I doubt that it's there. Why would they install the XM unit without the antenna??
