So before I start I just want to say pardon my grammar.

I have a 2013 Prius V Two with just over 150k miles. I was just cruising around and I turned the thermostat from high ac to high heat in one sweep and the blower made a weird noise then all heat stopped and it was blowing the ac at full blast while the settings were at high temp..

When I have the settings set to defrost the windshield most of the air comes out of the vents facing the drivers face. The air comes out stronger when the temp is set at around 74 degrees. If I raise or lower it, it sounded like something is in the way in the vents. So I used a camera to look down and into the vents and I saw what looked like a couple orange peels that may be blocking a "blender door" I believe its called. I have no idea lol I know as much about a car as a new born would. The blower motor works just fine and the pipes under the hood that are apart of the heater core (maybe I have no clue) get hot.

But yeah I hope my explanation isn't too confusing and makes sense. If anyone has an answer for me please reply asap! I could take it to the dealer and have them fix it but I'm sure ill get charged for unnecessary things. My father is also a mechanic and we finally have time to check It out tomorrow so if we end up figuring it out I will add that here.

Blender door was my, general/ all car makes, thought.
Real orange peels? The food, not a failed car part orange in color?

    Weird noise?
Orange peel contacted the blower fan, perhaps.

I think you know the answer.
Disassemble to access and remove these peels as a first step.
    Good luck.

Checked the blower motor and found a couple chewed up napkins and a mice nest. I removed that and the vibration (weird noise) went away. Assuming the mice are the reason I have orange peels in the vent in the first place. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time today to take everything apart and remove them but I wanted to post here and consider all options before tearing anything apart.

    Appreciate the reply!
