We recently purchased a 2020 Prius AWD-e XLE, and I finally got around to installing and connecting the Toyota iPhone app.

I was sorta expecting that I would be able to remotely start the car using the app, and do other things like open/close the windows, flash the lights, etc. And be able to retrieve more detailed driving history information (fuel efficiency, etc.).

But from what I can tell, the only thing the app shows me is the current odometer reading, and a visual gauge of the remaining fuel in the car.

Is this correct? Or should I be able to see more info/do other things?

Mine looks like this for my 2021 Prime Ltd. Others have said you were supposed to be able to read oil and tire pressures, but I can’t find it.

That's fascinating. Quite useless isn't it?

Thanks! I hadn’t realized that. I still don’t understand why I can’t see the amount of gas left as a numeric percentage instead of as a tiny gas gauge.

Don't assume that system is aware of it to the level of 1/100 precision. You might be back asking why it always shows the same five numerical values.

True. I’d like to see it in 1/8s, which I think is reasonable.

overall, the app is a bit useless. I was hoping it would report all the eco driving stats that are available in the car itself.

    That would be cool.

App integration is lacking in most $25k cars, Prius is nothing special there either.

That doesn’t do it on my iPhone app for Prius Prime.

I just got a Prime 2022 a week ago, and the app looks nothing like what is shown here.
Am I missing something? Or has the PP-app for iphone been downgraded???

Toyota “updated” their app. It looks quite a bit different now.

Actually, most of the useful information goes away after your free one year "connected services" demo expires. I was mildly interested in seeing my car's tire pressure info (not available anywhere in the in-vehicle display. But once my Connected Services plan expired there's essentially nothing of use in the app. And I can't see paying every month just so that fancy "launch missiles" button in the roof can call 911 for me.

BUT: the app updated at almost the same time as my plan expired (mid-April 2022), and indeed the look and feel of the app is different anyway.

Hmmm. We’ve had our Prius for 18+ months, and I can still see tire pressure on the app

I bought my 2022 prime just last month, and set up iphone with the app soon after.

In the beginning I could see how long the battery would take to charge, and while never accurate at least was a ball park estimate I could work with. App never showed tire pressure, never had the same GUI access as discussed above.

It never showed a 'My Garage' only a 'Glovebox', and as mentioned, the app is currently just about as useless as it could possibly be.
