The P1121 and P1116 codes have been present, on and off, for a while. I frequently drive from LA to SD. This morning, the triangle of death decided to pop on. Drove it to O'Reillys and the "assistant manager" didn't know how to pull the codes. Went to another location and they gave me the scanner. Only pulled P1121 and P1116. The last time the triangle of death came on it ended up being my hybrid battery. I got it replaced. This was back in July. I called the company up, green bean, and they said to send them the codes and then they'll have someone come replace the battery again.

Don't want to take the car to Toyota because they charge like $200 to tell me what's wrong with my car. Was going to try a place called SD Hybrids but they are closed on Mondays.

I don't see anything online suggesting the triangle of death is related to the two other codes. Oil level is good. Coolant level is good.

Any ideas? I changed the PCV valve the other day but drove up to LA and back since.

A common failure that would cause just the triangle would be the inverter pump failing. Open the inverter coolant reservoir and see if there's any movement in the fluid, make sure the car is in READY mode when you check.

    Welcome to PriusChat!!

Many prefer a 'mini-vci' cable (20 usd) and techstream (dealer technician software) installed on a windows device, saving yourself 200. Others might grab a OBD2 bluetooth adapter (30 usd?) with an App like Dr Prius or Hybrid Assistant.

Short term you should visit the hybrid specialist tomorrow to see what is going on, as there could be a number of things that can cause the RTOD.

If you want to check things yourself then you need to use a scantool, or OBD2 device and app (per SFO's recommendation) that can communicate with all the computers on a Prius (most basic devices like the parts stores use cannot).

I use my phone with Torque App and a BT OBDII transmitter.
