What does "satellite radio capability" mean?

I'm on the verge of purchasing a Prius and I currently have an external Roady2 XM player in my car which plugs into an AUX input on the radio. On the Prius, there is a "Satellite Radio Capability" feature on the stereo upgrade package. What does this actually mean? From what I've been able to find, you still have to purchase a different head unit or component if you actually want to get satellite radio, above and beyond what's in that package. So what exactly is "Satellite Radio Capability"? Does this imply that you can't get integrated XM or Sirius if you only have option package #1 or #2?

    Thanks,
    Jerry

There's an XM and Sirius unit that plugs into the back of the radio. It'll take the place of your Roady and can be operated on the MFD.

So does this mean the non-upgraded radio doesn't have this connector?

Good question. They may all have it, as the VAIS or DICE iPod integration also plugs into that (there's a connector for the satellite radio in the wiring harness if that's going in as well).

If they all have it, then it doesn't make sense that only the upgraded stereo would say "satellite radio capable". If they don't all have it, I guess it means that you can't get integrated satellite with the standard stereo.
