I recently got a 2017 Prius V Four. The only thing that made me reticent was the lack of Android Auto. I'm considering replacing the head unit with aftermarket, but overcome by the amount of info, much of which I'm not sure is relevant. There are many videos about replacing the HU, but most are on the Prius liftback, and when I do see info on the V, it's the older model 2012-15. Most units I find listed are for the older version.

    Questions:

Would install in the V be different from the liftback, or are harnesses, etc, the same through the models? Can I use liftback orly first gen V instruction videos?

Has anyone done this on a 2016-17 V? If so what is the largest screen that was possible, and which built-in features were lost? e.g. This image from Crutchfield shows Bluetooth, Satellite Radio and Navigation are not compatible. I find the Toyota navigation useless, I don't want Satellite radio, but Bluetooth? I'm missing something here right? No bluetooth? At any rate, I'd be interested in specific model numbers, installation advice, or even reputable installers. (Los Angeles area)

    Thanks

I was in the same boat after buying my 17 v last May.

I soon realized that the head unit controls too much to be replaced so I just use my phone now.

If you find something that works let us know.
