What maintenance should be performed on a 2005 Prius with 235,000 miles, after being garaged for 21 months? Vehicle was not on blocks or jacks. Tires require replacement because of treadwear. Thank you in advance!

engine oil and filter should do it.

fuel system might be gummed up. but i would try to start it before getting into a big project like that.

probably need a 12v, and likely a new hybrid battery.

Replace the12V battery just because. Check fluid levels then see what you have as far as HV battery goes. It would be a good idea to pump the gas out of the tank if possible- I have had old (dead) gas cause valves in the engine to stick open before.

If the HV battery is bad then your options are limited. If it does start and run (then go buy a lottery ticket), plan on changing ALL fluids (engine oil and coolant, inverter coolant, trans fluid, brake fluid) , full engine tune up, inspecting brakes, testing cooling system and hoses, checking all computers for codes. And eventually replace the tires.

The 12v battery had been disconnected. Vehicle starts and runs ok. Oil change completed, changed engine air filter and all wiper blades, filled up the tank with regular unleaded, heat and A/C work.
