    welcome!
to my knowledge, the plug in prius put all the aftermarket kit makers out of business.

maybe someone is selling their old one on ebay or the like

nope. it's pretty intense software development, i've never seen instructions. but there are some old threads here that get fairly detailed on installing the kits and how they work, if you can find them.

    I hope to be there;).

But we got married a bit later than it appears you and Mrs. Bisco did:whistle:.

But we did a fair bit of experiencing one another and the world prior to getting hitched:).

Much different today than for your generation:whistle:.

I know my very religious mother wasn't a fan of me playing house with my now wife at the time:cool:.

But best to know what you are signing your name to prior to making that large of a commitment(y).

My folks are your age, and my church going mother initially was not happy with my decision to move in with my girlfriend at the time:rolleyes:.

Then she came out with my brother and met her and understood:).

But we live on different coasts, so there was no "meet and greet" prior to that first occurrence out here on the best coast ;).

So that was a barrier to understanding .

But my mother and father grew up in the same town and my grandfathers worked together. Compared to my meeting my wife, apples and oranges(y).

thanks for letting me join this forum!
my first post here, after reading over here during long period in preparation for my Prius 2 conversion to plugin in march 2020 year. Running fine.
    Came accidentally across this post.

My set comes from the finnish guy pistokehybridi mentioned in the first post. Actually, the foto you see on their site is the set they shipped to me, together with a used set of 78 cells with 78 bms in an alu box. It works very fine, good support from the owner Ismo. He runs a company in audio/visual applications, a made this setup as a seconday activity. Currently working on a 1 box solution.
I am very busy as well, but will post some pictures of the set built in.

overall view of pistokehibridi set in the back of the car, abt 14kWh. On a french forum experience was abt 100Wh per km, so this setup should be able to do over 100km. the system had also a similar front board and a main board at two cuts in the canbus, front passenger compartment. Purple cable is canbus connection, 3kW charger is canbus controlled without relais. Ismo is working on a one box solution. It features three driving modes, see the youtube on their site. Total weight abt 140kg, I equipped the car with Corolla rear springs

Amazing stuff. I just bought a used Prius 2 and I happen to live in Finland. Today I sent a message to the pistokehybridi guy and right after I found this post. I'm just concerned about the cost of it all and reliability.

Also, what kind of Corolla springs you installed? Did you change anything else?

    @Alepe,
sorry for my late response. After having no reactions over here from topic starter or others, I did not check for long time; apparently I had no email warnings activated.

The Prius is one of the daily drivers, mostly for local roundtrips. Not any reliability issue with the Pistokehybridi set. Quick reaction in english on any question. One time had a loose connector from the unit on the drivers footwell....after a while I found that and the car started again immediately.
I urged Ismo (designer) to implement real automotive connectors in upcoming updates.
He is already for some time testing a one board solution (iso 3 boards, so less interconnect and easier installation). Maybe it is now short before market release. Interesting is the standard BMS for that set (I noticed those also at Aliexpress) in combination with Nissan Leaf cells; his company sells those as well. Prices are tough; he has to calculate his development cost in market price, I have no idea about his installed base sofar. VAT in Finland is rather high....

I have installed the 3 box can bus spoofer and controller, with 78 LFP cells and one BMS per cell. In order to make a fast start I purchased those from Ismo.
My idea was that price erosion would bring cheaper cells to the market that I can use for extending the battery from 14kWh upwards. I am in close contact with a Chinese guy in the Netherlands who imports directly from chinese factories, unfortunately prices do not get lower.... Also a Hydrogen fuel cell stack is still not affordable for me.

Reinforced rear spring were proposed by Ismo: KYB RG6541 , intended for Corolla Verso ZNR 10 generation. I made no further alterations to the car. Currently working on making a proper 230V connection to standard charge locations, and some V/A real time measuring. As monitor I use Scan Gauge.

    rgds, Jaap.
