Looking for a trustworthy mechanic in the Richmond, VA metro area for routine maintenance and installing parts I purchase myself. I've gone to McGeorge Toyota a couple times, but they don't seem as knowledgeable about my older 2001 Prius as they are about the newer cars. I get stuck talking with the service desk who relays questions back to the mechanics. There's got to be a good local shop who'll take time to pop her on the lift and talk with me about what's what, right?
    Thanks!!

I've had good experiences with both McGeorge and Haley, but admittedly nothing complex at either -- just minor warranty work and a steering shaft recall.

If you don't need hybrid-specific work, any reputable shop should be able to help you. Do you have a trustworthy shop you've used in the past for other cars? If not, send me a PM and I can give you some suggestions based on my own experience and where around town you're located. I'm a lifelong resident of the area.

@ashleyclark.28912 Did you ever find a reputable mechanic with good, early-model Prius knowledge?
