The Repair Manual (more info) has the necessary information for removal and replacement of the radiator grille sub-assembly. Parts catalog references: Figure 53-01, Radiator Grille, Figure 75-01, Emblem & Name Plate.
The emblem itself has no electronics, but it has to pass the radio waves sent and received by the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly behind it. That requires more expensive materials than an ordinary emblem.
If you just remove and replace the front bumper assembly (bumper cover), you don’t have to remove or adjust the radar sensor assembly, but you are supposed to calibrate the intelligent clearance sonar system, since its ultrasonic (sonar) sensors are attached to the bumper assembly.
The radiator grille sub-assembly (53101-47051) isn’t painted to match the body color. I don’t know if the service part needs to be finished, however.
The center front bumper bar (52111-47900) is the same color as the body. Since the service part doesn’t have separate listings by color, it’s a safe assumption that it must be painted.
Toyota Collision Repair Information Bulletin #191, “Scanning for Electrical System Faults,” recommends using the Health Check feature of a Toyota Techstream diagnostic system before and after every body repair.

    You’re most welcome.
By “finished” I meant that the grille available from Toyota dealers as a service part might conceivably require painting or some other surface treatment before it would have the same appearance as the original. It could come ready to install—I don’t know either way. I’d suggest asking at a dealer parts counter, where they may have seen one before or have access to a parts bulletin that would say for sure.

I sense that there are many spare badges floating around out there.
I glue magnets salvaged out of dead speakers onto the various badges that I come by with silicone and they make great fridge/toolbox/steel door decorations. Tape on the magnet protects the finish of the fridge.

I am going to paint my emblems chrome sections gloss black. Leave the blue sections which I am guessing where the radar is. If I very carefully mask off the sensor area, I should be good. White on black with no chrome will look nice IMO.

Will do. Hope to have the car in July. I will have some stuff already purchased for install as soon as it lands here.

Hi folks, I'm new to this blog, I'm reading a lot on our very near future Prius Prime 2022. My wife will be replacing her old 2009 Corolla S. I just wanted to share what I've done with my Camry SE Hybrid 2020 emblems, with Plasti-Dip. I've the mags as well. I will eventually Plasti-Dip the PP emblems as well. FYI I haven't touched the front emblems since sensors are located behind. Cheers!
