Hey folks, I'm looking to purchase a 2021 Prius Prime XLE in the next couple of days. It will be my first Prius and first hybrid vehicle ever and I am very excited. I test drove one yesterday and I was really impressed.

Is there anything I should know as a newbie going into my first Prius? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Congratulations! And welcome. Here is my two cents worth:
Cent #1: Drive it. Enjoy it. Don't stress about it. It's a remarkably reliable car that doesn't need to be over thought.
Cent #2: That said, the owners manual is you new best friend. If you want to get the most out of this car and really enjoy it, you have to have some quality time with the manual. You will soon have a million questions and almost all are in there. You can download the PDF version from the owner's page at toyota.com which is very handy when you want to search for something specific.
    Have fun!!

Get a spare tire with your negotiations.

I thought they didn't come with spare tires. Where would I put it?

That's my point. No spare = flat tire down the road, guaranteed.Trust me i had 4. 782BB8AF-31FA-4FE2-896B-3E20B10995C4_1_105_c.jpeg Strap it down with the clips that the back seat clicks into at the top for safety.

They have no spare and no place for one. Some people put it on the floor behind the driver's seat. But there are threaded holes on either side of the cargo area right behind the back seats. They have plastic plugs that you can unscrew. I made a D-ring (since I couldn't fine a ready-made one I knew would work) and bolted it to the left one. The car came with a strap, so I used that to secure the tire to the D-ring. I cover the tire with a sheet and coil the EVSE inside the spare tire.

Haha, maybe the back and hatch but front is illegal in my state and not worth the hassle. Besides, I don't like my front windows tinted anyway. Definitely looks better tinted, though.

70% is illegal? A good ceramic tint with a heat shield and some added UV blocking is still great even at 70%. Your Prime likely has some factory UV coating on it already, though.

It’s a beautiful looking car regardless!

Front sides, nothing is legal. Back sides and rear, anything goes. It's weird, I know, but I get it. Probably easier for them to make it "black and white" then bust out a light monitor to gauge the tint.

I am thinking about pulling off those ridiculous wheel covers and plastidipping the wheels.
