    I am new here and have seen a lot of great posts from people with answers to some difficult problems and I have one I can't seem to figure out. We parked our 2008 Prius with 280,000 miles on it and went out the next day to start it and the red triangle with exclamation light was on, the main battery power went from 90% to one bar. It sounded like it was running but I did find out it wasn't it was trying to start. I have codes p0351,p0352,p0353 and p0354. I have within the last year put new coil packs on, I did order new ones though, should be in next week. I put new spark plugs in, Denso Iridium. I have always changed the oil at 5000 to 5500 miles. I use synthetic oil, always have. We have owned the car since 2010, it had 42,000 miles on it when we bought it. I have always maintained the car. I took the throttle body apart and cleaned it, new gasket, new MAF sensor. I put a different ECM in. I don't know what else it could be? It literally went from a running car to this just by shutting the car off the night before. What could go out that quick? Any help would be appreciated.....thank you.

    P0351, 352, 353, 354 are ignition coil codes. The odds of all 4 coil packs or plugs failing simultaneously are pretty much zero.

    That leaves the problem to be something in common with all 4 circuits in the engine management system.

    Look at the attachment I've included. It's the repair manual section for the ignition. Page 2 shows a one line diagram.

    I tried to include the engine control section that has the troubleshooting guide for those codes, but the file is too large. If you can find it online (there are links in several forum threads) Codes are on page ES55 and guide starts on ES174.

    Thanks for your reply. I agree with you about the odds of the coil packs being bad at the same time would be rare. I appreciate the diagram. I thought about the fusible link. Would that have any affect on the car in this manner? I do all my repairs and can figure them out most of the time but this one has me stumped. Thanks again for your input.

    In the wiring diagram you might notice that the IGF circuit for confirming ignition is shared by all four igniters....

    You might want to give the wiring harness a thorough visual inspection from the coils back to the firewall- then remove the lower glovebox and look at the wiring inside at the ecu's on the right. I wouldn't be surprised if you have rodent chewed wires somewhere. Each coil has a common switched ignition power, common ground, common IGF (confirmation signal to the ecu), and individual IGT (ecu control for each coil).

    Normally a coil has power and ground. The ecu sends a brief pulse on IGT to have it switch on then off- charging then "firing" the coil to produce a spark across the plug. While the coil is charging, the coil will send its own pulse back to the ecu on IGF to confirm that it is capable of producing a good spark.

    If the ecu doesn't receive an IGF for a particular cylinder, it will set a matching P035x code. Since you have codes for all 4 cylinders, you likely have a single fault that affects all coils. Loss of power, ground, or a problem with IGF.
