If I use the app to control the HV batt fan, it works great.
But without the app, when batt temp goes up, there is little or no response from the fan.
The temp reaching 51° and the fan only on 4.
Has this happened to anyone else?

I have a gen 3. previously had a gen 2. After a lot of research i have come to the conclusion that let the ecu do its job. I have seen battery temps of around 46 celsius with no movement of HV fan and an absolutely perfect performance of the car. So just enjoy the car. However, ensure that the filter and hv fan are clean

I would love to continue to trust the ECU, however when I do. I frequently get a red triangle.
In which I clear the code, check the temp, fan is underperforming, open the app, make the fan work right, go on with my day.

Shouldn't the ECU know to turn the fan on at about 36°C/97°F?

Is the 51 degrees Fahrenheit or Centigrade, maybe Centigrade? Fan speed 4 seems about right for 51C.

Something's not right. Check the HV battery fan filter and the fan itself

The code was P0A80, cleared with Dr. Prius and a bluetooth dongle.
Sometimes the red triangle pops up and the temp is only in the 40s
    I don't think there's a filter on gen 2

you need a new battery, and the intake grille/filter is in front of the back seat cushion or up on the piller
