If you need/want an extended warranty theres a couple dealers that offer them severely discounted any time you want. One is Hutchinson, KS Toyota and I forget the other one, but its in Michigan.

Thanks! That's what I figured, and looking at the brochure once I got home, the delear was pushing a third party warranty which I would definitely avoid.

I had gotten am extended warranty on my 2004 Gen 2 after the MFD needed to be replaced (under the original warranty) twice. Of course never had a covered problem again--luckily I had at least gotten it through Troy in Greenfield (found via Prius Chat) for a significant discount. Having said that, lots of tech in the Prime Limited, and it sounds like the 11.6" screen is crazy expensive to replace if it fails, so I will check out pricing and consider getting an extended warranty vefore the original runs out.

I'm contacting several dealers in the east and west coast to get a quote on the 2021 Prius Prime LE.

The lowest I was able to get is $23.200 includes rebates, dealer fees and access. (Before tax)

Has anybody gotten an offer with less than 23K. I'm looking to replicate some offers.

Bought mine two months ago at $21439 before TTL (and shipping) from Santa Cruz Toyota.

    $29474 MSRP - $5000 Toyota rebate - $3035 net dealer discount.

From last I checked, New England dealerships will have the best rebate and a pretty decent inventory. I think the CA/west coast Toyota rebate is down to $4000.

$8,000 off MSRP is what you should shoot for. You probably won't get it, but worth a try. I'll be at Toyota of Dartmouth on Friday getting my car if you want me to ask any questions.

Don't be desperate. Otherwise you will pay higher prices. Started looking for fun in the SF Bay Area. Seems like the XLE models are going for roughly 28k OTD with a tax rate of 8.75%. Pretty high. Hold out if you can.

We got the XLE a week ago in SF at $27,600 OTD. Not the lowest here but happy with all the incentives & tax credits we get.
You might or might not get more cash back in next promo period, but one thing for sure the PP is worth every penny you pay for.

We finally made our purchases! Bought a 2021 Prime Limited and a 2021 Prime XLE from Lia Toyota of Colonie (NY). Buying both at the same time didn't improve either deal.

    Limited:
    MSRP: $35458
    Dealer Discount: -$2800
    Tax (NJ): $2164
    Non Tax Fees: $393
    Toyota Discount (w/Uber): -$5750
    OTD: $29465

    XLE
    MSRP: $31379
    Dealer Discount: -$2400
    Tax (NJ): $1920
    Non Tax Fees: $392
    Toyota Discount (w/Uber): -$5750
    OTD: $25541

These prices are similar to what I could have gotten in MD before the promotions changed in early May (but wasn't thrilled about the color choices available there). We also traded in a 2018 Prime for $19.5 (probably could have gotten more) which saved an additional $1292 in tax (so essentially -$20,792 for the trade in).

I am SO relieved to be done! Thanks everyone for the tips and info!!

Congrats. Why did you get two? Does $4502 federal tax credit apply to both or just one?

Newbie here: Provided that the incentives for June are similar to the ones in May, I am going to be purchasing a 2021 Prius Prime (LE most likely). I'm in southeast Michigan. My first question is if you think Western New York is my best bet for the 5K rebate + dealer incentives. If so, does anyone have any experience with Basil Toyota (near Buffalo) or Hoselton (near Rochester) or any other upstate/Western New York dealers? If so, have you had any luck on getting them to come down beyond their advertised dealer discounts? Am I missing something. Is there a dealer that stands out in terms of great deals? I appreciate your insight in advance. Thank you.

As long as one has enough tax liability to claim, there is no limit on the number of cars that qualify for the fed tax credit.

Yup! We needed 2 cars and figured we could trade the XLE in next year towards the 2nd car we ultimately want to get (it'll should be worth more than we paid because of the dealer discount and $4500 tax credit on each car, and we'll additionally save on the sales tax for the new car).

I almost bought from basil..but they sold the one I wanted. I was able to get them down a few hundred under their e-price. They seemed very easy to work with compared to the other clown dealerships I ran into.

Traded in my 2017 Premium for 2021 XLE. Cost 300 after I get back the federal and state tax rebates.
Negotiated pre-trade and had the leverage of Carmax trade in value printed with me. Not sure it mattered much but the final sales had the

    Pre-trade the numbers were
    2021 XLE
    MSRP $31,254
Selling Price $28,426 or (2800ish dealer markdown)
Incentive- $5,500 Toyota and $1,000 Student
    Price before TTL $21,926
    OTD negotiated pre-trade $24,062
    Massachusetts

OTD after trade ended up at $6,300.

When incentive went up 500 for May (5,000 to 5,500) the dealer markdown went down 400 from 3,200. I tried hard to get them to keep it the same so I could end up at 0 cost for my trade-up but was close enough to get it done. Plenty of Primes in New England but I think the chance is high toyota rebate goes down... or it will go up to clear out the stock with an impending mid-cycle refresh and BZ4X on the horizon.

Just purchased a PP in the bay area 2 weeks ago as well. What other incentives aside from the tax rebate is there? I thought the CA clean air incentive was exhausted?

Thanks for the insight. I see that you're from Indiana. Do you mind me asking where you got yours from? Thanks.

As of the middle of April I believe the Prime is no longer eligible for the $1000 CA rebate. Did you get the ~$900 dealer point of sale rebate? And the federal incentive is a tax credit so your tax liability must be high enough to receive the full credit.

Yes got the $900 rebate and tax liability will be high enough. Yeah I just missed the CA rebate. Just wanted to be sure I wasn't overlooking anything.
