Hello everyone! I have a red triangle and check engine light on my 2006 Prius with 200k miles. Using Techstream I pulled P0A80, P3000, plus B1200 (Body ECU Communication Stop), B1207 (Smark Key ECU Communication Stop), B1271 (Combo Meter ECU Communication Stop).

Additionally, my 12V battery is borderline low, measuring 12.3 V at rest but it goes does go back up to 14V+ when the car runs. Oil is good (a little high actually...). Headlights and accessories function properly.

I attached some shots of the HV data from Techstream. I don't know too much about batteries but I can see that cell 3 is a little low in voltage and has a bit higher internal resistance. Maybe it is the problem, but I'm not prepared to fix the HV battery on my own.

Either way, my real question is if there is anything I can do to make the car safely drivable to the hybrid shop? I'd like to save the money and stress of a tow for actually fixing the car. It's 20 miles and has lights and traffic. The car does have some symptoms like the pick-up is slow, but not to the degree of being a hazard in those conditions.

Hi. I don't have any pump codes and can see the inverter coolant moving around in the reservoir when the engine runs. That said the pink fluid in the reservoir is right at the low line so I can top it off before I go.

I don't see anything in the data that should be a disaster in 20 miles. If you want, bring the techstream laptop with you to reset any codes. (I do believe in automotive voodoo - being prepared for a problem will make it less likely to occur).

That said, the first thing I would suggest is to have the 12V battery charged, tested, or replaced as needed. If that is weak it can cause all kinds of problems when you "ready" the car. Including communication error codes as well as the occasional bogus HV battery code.

The P0A80 could be legit, but someone would have to monitor (record) block voltages over a range of operating conditions (accelerating and decelerating, at high and low State Of Charge) then evaluate the data.
