    Fortunately I’m in an EV friendly place. Model 3s dominate followed by Prius Primes surprisingly.

    Although recently I have seen a MINI Cooper S E and 2 Polestar 2s. Toyota must’ve gotten a batch of RAV4 Primes because I saw 3 base SEs and one XSE within the past week.

    One things for certain, some of those ridiculous oversized front end grill designers at Toyota must be crapping themselves to see that their massive grill has finally been removed.

    That was intentional, an obvious simple move to set apart the new offerings.

    In the large (maw) grille's place is a large ugly battering ram of a front end -- also not needed. That said, glad they lost the Toyota/Lexus look of the lat 10 years.

    It still looks very fish-like. :(

    Hey I know, make it look like a bumper? Maybe function like a bumper? Crazy, but it might work…

    Oh and, recess the plate, so you don’t punch license plate bolt imprints in the guy ahead.

    I remember in one of the early Prius articles, a Toyota PowerPoint presentation discussed technical approaches for higher efficiency, I remember one chart that said 'batteries are too expensive and low performance' which was accurate in the mid 1990s. But blended in the Prius drivetrain, small capacity batteries worked.

    ... and for an additional $5,000 you can get the xse premium, which you would think you would get with any more expensive model, the xse. Not So. Some owners find they got the slow charger, when they think the xse, because it's more expensive, would have the 6.6 KW charger. Not so. The only thing more infuriating is how the sales Critters don't have a clue what you are talking about when you want to assure you don't get a slow 3kw charger

    Yeah it’s weird how TMNA packaged the RAV4 Prime. Not sure why it’s packaged just with the Tech pack and not all XSE trims.

    Lucky for Canadians, all RAV4 Primes come with the 6.6kW charger.

    Not sure about your regulations. Canadians have been buying US-spec cars for a while and there was a big surge around 2007-2010 when the exchange rate was favourable to Canadians. (Lots of Gen 2 taxis were US-spec).

    Yeah. I find this new EV interesting. Choices are currently... A used model 3 Dual motor $41K and 4K a year to insure it...and it will probably be too small for us.... Rav 4 Prime Limited or XSE $47K and 42 mile range. AWD....delivery in 24months
    Tesla Cybertruk $63K and take delivery in 2030. Or a BZ4X awd is $48K 300 mile range.Delivery in 2024 Level 2 charger at the house....hmmmmm. At least we have choices...oh and the wife is eyeballing the Mercedes EBS for $55K.

    How is insuring a M3 $4K per year? How does that happen?

    It's not quite that bad. According to National averages, which depend on your area, cost for repairs & whether you have a perfect or rotten driving record - it will be around $2,200.

    We were paying $1,800 for our Model X for example - but apparently that's lower than the national average.

    Bad crime area with no garage, lots of accidents on record, lack of knowledge (on the part of the insurance company) of the Model 3?
    I’ve seen lots of reasons insurance companies jack up prices. Shopping around can typically give you better prices.

    Yes. I'm sold with what I've seen. It is just IF and When you can buy one. Size is important. the Prius Prime is a bit too small. Rav 4 Prime bigger but just as much as a BZ4X. I would go XSE dual motor. At my age I want all the bells and whistles. If I drive a BZ4X 90 percent of the time I won't feel bad about driving my Range Rover the other 10 percent of the time. :whistle:
