The other week as I went out for a grocery run, when I turned on my car and the fan started I was hearing a clicking sound that sounded as if it were coming from the glovebox. I took a video and you can hear it in this streamable:

It has since gone away, but I want to get ahead of it before it becomes a constant thing. I turned AC on and off and that didn't affect it at all, but when I turn the fan off it goes away. This leads me to believe it's something on the cabin fan or cabin air intake itself and not the AC compressor or something specific to the AC.

Any help would be appreciated! I'm near 200k and I had to replace the HV battery recently so I'm hoping to do some TLC and get set up to go for 400k as my dd

the filter is behind the glove box. the fan is below it and visible when you remove the filter. some debris might have gotten in there.

Have you pulled the glove box and looked? Could be rodents…

I recently changed my glovebox from the original by swapping with a 06 one from a junkyard that has the more durable, textured plastic. Didn't notice any rodent signs then and that was about 6 weeks ago.

Will check for debris in the filter/fan, thanks

Or other debris that has made it's way into the fan area.
If the cabin air filter hasn't been changed recently, you might be amazed at what you find in there.

I had the same problem, I took the glove box and filter out and used a flexible vacuum cleaner extension to vacuum out everything, did the trick.
