    Hi all,
I have a Prolong charger for my Gen 2, now my Gen 3 starts getting HV battery problem.
So I was trying to use Prolong to charge it as well.
But I found the HV fan of Gen 3 is quite different form gen 2.
Can't get the fan to spin with the charger.
Does anyone have experience on this ?
Or anyone who know how to trigger the HV fan on the bench test ?

    TIA.

Yes I have sent them email today. Hope they won't tell me to buy a new charger for Gen 3 instead. :)

You need to buy the harness for the Gen3.
According to there site, best I understand it, the charger/discharger is the same.

I was able to get fan control boxes from them for $15, but that was semi-warranty related and it took them months to follow through. It might be easier to adapt your Gen2 fan to work in place of the Gen3 fan...

"How did you control the fan speed?"

Pretty sure you don't have to; when engaged, the Prolong system runs the HV fan at full speed.

Gen3 might be different, but gen 2 prolong harness runs the fan by gradually increasing voltage from 0v up to 6.5v and while you can hook the fan up and run it at 12v, the fan runs faster than it would normally with that much voltage and could over time cause damage. To determine if that damage is a real risk, we need to better understand why Toyota has a 12v fan they're only sending max 6.5 volts to?

Yes exactly, but no way to control the fan speed.Probably no need to.
I have wired an on/ off switch between GND0 and S10, sorted the problem temporary.

I've just added a $3 cheap motor control, now I can manually control the fan from stop to full speed.

I am in a similar situation to the OP, I have a charger and harness for my Gen 2, and would like to use the same charger on the Gen 3. This charger is from Hybrid Revolt and they do not have a harness for the Gen 3. However, I am thinking about buying another Gen 2 harness and wiring their fan control board to run the Gen 3 fan. Their board is wired into the Green, Yellow, and Black/white wires to the Gen 2 fan. So I am thinking that I would hook up the board to IG0, SI0, and GND0 respectively. I am not sure what the colors are in the Gen 3, but I think I can figure it out.
