    The car has been totaled by the insurance. I’m still hurting and specially in the shoulder area but just glad it wasn’t worse.
    I guess I need to look for a new car. Im not sure if I will stick with the prime.
    Back in 2009 I was one of the first to get the 3rd generation Prius in the Los Angeles area. I got my first prime in 2013. Then got the 2019 prime( the one that got in to the accident) .

    Loved the 2013 prime. One issue I had with my 2019 prime was the clearance. I know it has bigger batteries so it’s heavier than the 2013. Found myself banging the underside even going over small speed bumps. Limits the roads I can take. I couldn’t go on roads that were easily passable in a Camry. 2019 also has limited trunk space due to the bigger batteries. As a hiker, mountaineer, camper, clearance and trunk space has become more important to me. But can I give up the awesome gas mileage. The amount of gas my rental car is drinking is horrific. I’m finding it hard to give up on the mpg.

    the 2021 prime is still very appealing, specially with the incentives they have currently. Would be sad to leave the Prius family after so many years. I’m looking at other options. Crosstrek, rav4 prime and hybrid are a few.

    Since you have the "opportunity" to get another vehicle, you may want to look at the newer stuff every automaker seems to be announcing now. I'm thinking the plug-in BEV's like the Lightning and others.

    As cool as they are, a plug-in vehicle isn't practical for me. (I'd need a 900' extension cord...) so the Prius NON Prime is great. I'm getting 2 to 1-1/2 times the MPG that my previous vehicle got. And living in an area where I can easily put on a couple of hundred miles a week just "around town" - the fuel savings are substantial.

    I guess depending upon how long you can wait before pulling the trigger to see what hits the market will be a factor.
