Doc, As you said in the past: "Hardest part is threading the wires thru the lumen from the doors to the body". With this new info, is it still your opinion?

That doesn't change at all. You still need to get the harness from the mirror to that plug somehow. The connection you make once the harness is in tha car is not hard either way. Getting the harness there was the hard part, and you still need to do that.

Horacio. thanks for going above & beyond to take these photos, since you didn't actually use this wiring harness. It really saves some time for the rest of us. Now if I just hear of my mirror covers shipping.

As Doc said, to thread the wire through the door frame from side to side is not a joke, is a cumbersome task and time consuming, out of sight and space constraints are a factor x two doors......

No problem, I'm trying to help the best way I can.
As a matter of fact, I connected my LED signal wiring by the Prius schematic, in a complete diferent location, right behind the steering wheel . ;)

Well it was terrific to see those pictures- I was so excited (by the way, big thank you to MrBigH) I ran out and took the car apart- 2 minutes by now, and plugged the new harness in as depicted. Then I plugged one of the new mirror harnesses into it, male plug comes from the big harness and there is a female plug on the end of the turn signal mirror (after you install it as directed). I plugged those together and turned on the turn signals and expected the mirror to actually flash.......nope.
I unplugged that connection and took my test light and stuck it onto the end of the male plug and touched the prongs, expecting the test light to flash -nope. Instead the door lock mechanism activated -what the heck is that?
Finally, the long harness provided with the kit has female ends on both ends. The mirror harnesses now have female ends on both ends as that is what is provided in the kit....so that won't work.
I am going to e-mail Tommy Leung and see if he can help. Maybe my harness has a couple wires out of place or crossed or something.
If anyone else with Tommy's kit installs it and gets it to work, please let me know and maybe takes pictures all the way start to finish. I have to say, I have worked on cars, as a hobby, all of my life and this is the first time I have hit the wall. Thanks for the help everyone. Cairo94507

That sucks! I knew that was too easy!

Cairo, can't you go with DocVijay's instructions? Is the harness that different from the one he received with his JDM's?
Also, can you scan and post the instructions? Maybe more then one set of eyes on it will help decipher them. It may be awhile before you get a response from Tommy. Just a thought.

OUCH!!!, I never check for voltage flow while blinking and yes, you are right Cairo, the harness provided doesn't work, it may be for another application and yes indeed, this greenish harness interacts with the lock/unlock function of the car. Could be that the overseas versions are some kind of different in this aspect? There is not another connector block alike in shape to the one provided in the driver's cabin.
I checked the installation pictures of DOCVIJAY and he shows the same wiring points that I used for my install, only I used the original prius schematic to get to this terminals.
Wait to hear what the distributor comments are. Always is a way around to make these to work when desperation arises.

Has everyone who ordered received IS01? I know I specifically requested IS03 in my order so maybe it's just a mix up in some of the shipments. I guess I'll find out soon enough. Heres the pic from their website. IS01 is for the ISIS.

Also, the IS03 looks like a different mirror style then the IS01.

The IS03's look like they have a chrome or brushed metal panel of some sort on them. FL Buckeye, did you notice the same thing on the set you returned??

The ones I returned were IS01 on the outside of the box and the instructions. Mrbigh's were IS01 and physically fit the Prius mirror body okay. I asked Tommy if I had received the wrong mirrors as I thought it was supposed to be IS03, and he replied that I received the correct mirror kit, just the wrong color.

Has anyone emailed Tommy to ask about the wiring yet? Since he is probably just reselling something made by another place, he probably doesn't know much about what fits and what the differences are. I can wire it like mrbigh and DocVijay, but it would be nice to have it plug-n-play.

I sent Tommy at [email protected] an e-mail this morning, 10/27 at 0700 hours. We will all have to wait and see what we get in response. Cairo94507

I also sent Tommy an email asking about the wiring harness. The more he hears about it, maybe the more motivated he will be to resolve it. So far, he has been as good as any supplier I have dealt with as far as taking care of my problem. I hope it continues.

Glad we can now edit again. My keyboard can't spell worth a darn.

Here is the email response I got from Tommy regarding the wiring harness:

    ************

Our wiring harness are fit for Prius in Asia, so i think this is the only difference.
About the IS01 and IS03 is just part number for warehouse use, it wont have any different inside boxes.
    Regards,
    Tommy

    ************

So it looks like we will have to wire it like mrbigh and DocVijay.

I also sent an Email complaining about the IS-01/IS-03 and the wiring harness, so far by 6pm no answer :(

    NEWS, not so great news.
I was ready to go home and I checked one more time the email in box and ....zap!!! email from Tommy
This is a copy of received email:
    "<span style="font-family:Verdana">
The IS01 and IS03 is just the number for warehouse, but the stuffs inside are the same, the problem that we found out that the wire hardness are perfect fit for Prius in Asia, it must be the difference between left hand and right hand diver side, I think is the best thing to do is try to hook up the wire into the fuse box or signal light in front. If your have any more question please feel free to email me at [email protected] </span>
    "
Well, it seems that you will have to do your own hardwiring, relax , it is not so difficult. ;)

I didn't purchase through eBay, so don't really have an avenue for complaining. Those that bought through eBay could mention it when they do the feedback on their purchase.

Like I said before, I can get around it so its not a deal breaker. I didn't even know it would provide any connectors when I ordered it. My correct 3R3 covers should be at JFK today. Hopefully I will have them Tuesday or thereabouts. If I can find the time, I surely am not going to wait for another wiring harness before I do the install. Thanks, DocVijay, for your pictures.

I got the little brown slip from USPS today, so I'll have them tomorrow. They are still going tho have to wait until next weekend for the install though as I just got tagged for a Lean Six Sigma course  for the entire next week!

I know Doc did some pics but I'm still a little confused on the configuration. I'm hearing some say tap into the steering column and then Docs pics show to the left of the steering column. I'm not a big wiring guru so the simpler the better. ;)

Well, I got mine today and they're the same as everyone elses. IS01 all over the box. Does anyone else think it odd that the picture on his add is different from what we are receiving? I mean, we all knew what we were getting based on what everyone else was receiving, but...are these truely IS03? Or, for that matter, is IS03 really the model we require? Who really knows?

And....SIGMA is selling the same thing as OEM/JDM. So...comments?

So far we know, DocVijay is the only one who got them from sigma and these are different.
Today in New York we have stormy wheather and extremely windy, don't think that I will be able to shut any pictures outdoors of the wiring. :(
