Just the other day all apps in the Entune Suite stopped working. When I try to stay one it’ thinks’ for a minute and then I get “Download error. Some Entune App Suite functions may not work as expected. Please reinitiate the download process.” And then I get “Network connection unavailable. Please try again later.” I’ve tried it in several locations and still get the same error. Thoughts?

All of them. Even the Fuel app. Alexa, iHeart, NPR. All of them. And my ApplePlay has been weird. Texting works less than it did before. “On it!” Says Siri and then doesn’t complete the text.

Every once in a while I get this "no one would know what this conversation was about, 10 years back" feeling.

Ah, yes. Just the other day it was broken. That was most likely the day that that major cloud service provider was screwed up for the day. Or maybe it was the one where unpatched windows cloud servers were being hacked. It might have been your local cell phone provider switching to 5G and screwing up the change.

All I can say is that Entune works fine for me here in California 2 days later on an Android based cell phone.

Have you tried to update the Entue at a location where you have a very good cell signal or better WiFi connection on the phone that is linked to your car? Entune havoc happened on my previous 2020 PP LE during the trip where I did not have a very reliable data connection. I had to wait till I get back home and update the Entue with the phone connected to the home WiFi. Here is my write-up on the event and subsequent opting out of the Safty Connect. No more Entune for 2020 Prius Prime, but... | PriusChat It may be slightly different on the 2021 Ltd model with an 11.6" display, but if haven't tried it yet, try that first.

I now have the same car as you that is 2021 PP Ltd. I intend not to install Entune App Suite nor the Toyota App on my phone or on my car. And I will Opt-Out of the Safety Connect. I have no need for them and no desire to play with Toyota's broken infotainment system.

Why call it a broken system? I have the 2017 advanced, and find that it does what it is designed to do rather well.

The complaints remind me of my friend who had a Nokia cell phone that he'd used for years. When it broke, he had to replace it and was disgusted by how inadequate the Android, Windows Mobile and Apple devices were. None of them ran his favorite contact manager. None would run the MP3 player that his Nokia used. And the list went on and on.

There are a few things that I'd like the infotainment system to do. Some of them seem to be prohibited by some regulatory body. For instance, the built in nav system does not allow me to search for new destinations while driving. My cell allows me to do that. Not sure what Android Auto does if I want to look up the nearest gun shop while driving through east LA, but California laws say that I can only use it if it's one touch.

By by comparison, my neighbor's 2017 Mazda does even less than my Prime does. It's less capable and the interface is more clumsy. Go figure.

If it works for you, that's great. I have no need for any of the functionality Entune App Suits or Toyota App offers. The fact that Toyota's infotainment system is very buggy and tends to cause frustration if I rely on it is the reason I do not want to play with it.

BTW, I can relate to your friend's complaints about the Nokia phone. Yep, I am still using a Nokia phone running Windows Phone 8 as my main phone. I have not tried it on my brand new 2021 PP Ltd, but the phone worked flawlessly on my previous 2017 PP Premium with an 11.6" HU. I used it every day as a phone and audio player connected to the car via Bluetooth. Good thing it did not have Entune App on the phone. No Entune or now Toyota apps for the Windows Phone. LOL

There have been a lot of internet disruptions lately. That's the most likely cause of your service disruption. Companies have been pushed to use massive data centers like Amazon (AWS) or Microsoft (Azure) or Cloudfront to run their service on virtual systems. That makes it possible for a simple work error to take hundreds or even thousands of businesses offline at once. By the time you add in all the networks that are involved in connecting your cell phone to the entune servers, and it's a minor miracle that it ever works. :)

The Entune App is no longer available on the App store and so I am not able to update it. My problem is that I keep getting the following error message coming up that is a real irritation… “Download error, some Entune App Suite Functions may not work as expected. Please initiate the download process” I even had a salesman at Toyota try to help get rid of this error message coming up. It stopped for a couple of days and has now started coming up again every time shortly after starting the car…?? Anyone know how to help me with this?

Why don't you just uninstall the app? You aren't using it anyway. After having played with Toyota's infotainment system on the previous two PPs (2017 Premium with 11.6" screen and 2020 LE with 7" screen), I decided it was not worth it. On my current 2021 PP Ltd, I never bothered with installing Toyota App or Entune App. Nothing to update. No error message.

Does anyone know what is the most recent version of the Entune apps in the head unit? I recently purchased a used 2020 PP Limited and updated the app suite to 1.0048. Once I did it was constantly asking me to connect to use the function, so then I reset the personal data to stop that. Now I get a message to update the apps every time I start the car. So less messages are better than more but good grief.
