IMG_0418.jpeg IMG_0410.jpeg IMG_0335.jpeg IMG_0415.jpeg IMG_0414.jpeg IMG_0413.jpeg IMG_0411.jpeg I really love this car. So much so that I bought two identical Primes in my two favorite colors, now recently, I debadged the white one and it looks so much better (in my opinion). I also removed the front license plates today and used the plate screws and caps that came with my silicon license plate frame to cover the holes and it looks just fine. I went through the car wash today and somehow came out with a bent front plate on the blue one, so I just removed them. It looks so much better and maybe helps with wind resistance?

Next fix will be replacing the drivers side door panel switches with the fully backlit ones (from a previous post). Im getting incredible mileage, 75 MPG combined, having driven now twice from Palm Springs to Los Angeles, but I am driving in Eco mode and in no hurry which seems to help.

The first mod I did on my Prius was to tint the windows. More for functionality than for looks but I thought it made the car feel and look cooler.

I do like the no front license look but afraid CHP do not feel the same. They gave me a fix it ticket on my front window tints not one month after I got them done. Good luck.

I keep seeing blue ones and wishing I had been able to find one…

I have a magnetic grey one (and I like it) but I want black badges/emblems. Any chance you’d sell your de-badged white one’s badges so I could paint them and then have them to put on mine?

Oh I'd give them to you if I still had them, I tossed them as they were mostly bent plastic once removed. Someone on here put the emblems from the Original prius on their car and it looked great!

Sad. I can’t seem to find a full set of black emblems anywhere. I think if I had those blacked out and had black wheels I’d like my grey Prime more. As is, I keep wishing Mississippi had the rebate the northeast had and the color selection everywhere but Mississippi had.

It is not hard at all to plasti-dip the badges. Mine is magnetic grey as well. Plasti-dip all black except the front center one. Search youtube for howto.

I used plastidip on my Z-71 before, but I’m not really sure how to get all these little letters on the Prius without getting it on the car... Plus, wanted to keep the blue portions.

What is the solution for the front center one? I don’t want to leave one uncoated.

I have the side emblems from the debadging effort:).

So that's two badges you could have;).

Let me know if those side emblems are of interest to you(y).

Newspaper and paint tape will do the job

I don't touch the front center one due to the sensor/radar that I don't wanna mess around.

Thanks. I’ll give it a whirl soon.

Has anyone successfully colored or coated the front one?

Already have my non-branded blue licence plate holder and sticker removal spray to get the badges away :D
Can't really wait for my Prius to arrive ... one more month.
I am seriously considering wrapping the whole car, as I am pretty tired to deal with dents many people leave on my Corolla when they try to "park".

I’m considering plastidip for my whole Prius prime. It only took 6 days for Mississippi roads to throw rock chips on it. I’d rather re-spray plastidip than have chipped paint to deal with weekly.

I’ve seen too many cars with PPF that either got dirty at the edges or started peeling. And a few cars where the paint was different from UV when the PPF was peeled off after a few years.

Who was the film made by?

I put STEK on ours, and it is good quality;).

Had a professional installer do the job as well:).

    Should last a long time(y).

Lucky for me, I have service that wraps cars, installs thermal films on car windows (they did the job on my Corolla) quite near me, around one-hour trip there.
The film on the car should last 6-8 years and 10+ years on windows.
The only con is that they need the car for three days, and it cost around €1000 for protection film and around €250 for all the windows (including tinting, if you want one).

Got bored and did the plastidip. I need to spray the inside of the actual wheels (and spray that strip on the mirrors I didn’t notice until now) but it’s a million degrees outside in Mississippi.

Next up will be window tint, but my preferred shop is booked.
