I just bought a 2012 Toyota Prius w/ 120,600 miles and one owner for $9,300. The car has leather and touch screen but no back up camera. I tried to negotiate the price but the guy was firm. Since i needed a car and heard how a Prius is a gas saver, I bought it. However, thinking about it now, I'm wondering if i could've tried harder to lower the price... Please be honest and blunt.

these are strange times in the used car market. you probably did not overpay.

you got a nice car, time to move on. start learning about it and investigating maintenance.
120k is a big one for prius. log in to toyota.com/owners to find the maintenance record for your vehicle.

also, search here for egr circuit cleaning and oil catch can.

    all the best!(y)

I agree. Sounds like a good price. If you're curious, check on Carvana, Carmax, etc. I bet they are priced several thousand more there.

Aftermarket leather? The lack of backup camera confirms it as a Two, but leather (Softex, heated too) came only on Four and Five.

I think that's what they get for them in California. But in Georgia everybody likes pickup trucks. I remember a time when I could get 5-year-old Priuses for $5,500 all day long.. Hard to say with this weird market right now

According to Carfax (where I keep my maintenance records), my Prime has gone up in value about $2,000 since I purchased it last November. This car has 65K miles! Hahaha. It's a VERY strange car market.

Basically, yes, the car market has been very strange.

Pretty good price you got it for. Congrats!

Currently on Carvonka they are priced roughly $15k and that is IF you can get one.

They are all "purchase in progress" or "Pre-order"
    Supply and demand

As others mentioned, register on Toyota Owners...check maintenance
Stick around PriusChat and ask questions, and read about your new car

    YES.
    You over-paid.
Now...pardon me while I go and read what you actually posted.

    Oh....OK.
    Yep. I was right.

    Either way....
You and the car are now married....at least as this concept is practiced in the US...so how much you spent on the wedding is now irrelevant.

It's time NOW to get to know the car and determine whether you're going to live together happily, or become involved in a nasty and expensive break-up.

For example: Touch screen? I'm not familiar with this as an OEM option.
Pleather WAS offered as an option, but your principle concern NOW should not be options, or how much GAS you're saving....because people whose cars are being towed or are parked in the driveway with a blown head gasket do not typically use much gas.

    So....
Have you looked up the maintenance records for your new car on-line?
Did you get the car inspected by a mechanic before purchasing?

120,000 miles features fairly prominently in your Warranty and Maintenance guide, IIRC.
    Were these items done?

If you're not familiar with this document and the previous owner didn't leave it in the glove box, it's available on-line.

    Good Luck!

My 2012 brochure (yes, I still have it) shows touch screen as Standard on all normal trims, Two though Five. (Fleet-bound Ones not included in this brochure.)
Not part of any option package. Not Available on Two and Three, but Standard on Four and Five.

It’s a total seller’s market with high prices and anything priced reasonably will literally sell within hours (at least here in SoCal). Don’t stress about the price, just enjoy the car. Congrats by the way.

    "She" ?

I was thinking perhaps the 13th great-great-grandson of Claude-Étienne Minié.
